“Wade,” she moans deeply. Hearing her say my name cranks me up another notch. I begin to fuck her even harder and she cries out in ecstasy, her eyes locking with mine as she rides another wave of pleasure.

“You’re mine forever,” I growl as I move inside her. “Tell me you’re mine.”

“I’m yours,” she moans. “Always.”

The words are too much for me to handle. As I thrust once more, I hit my high, spilling my load deep inside her tight pussy. She cries out again in pleasure and I know she’s had her third orgasm of the day. I stay inside her, looking down at her beautiful body sprawled across my desk. Before I can think better of it, I say what I’ve been thinking all along.

“I love you,” I growl. I half expect that she won’t say it back. It’s so soon, so out of the blue. But a smile forms on her perfect mouth and I know that she feels the same. This is our destiny, after all.

“I never thought this would happen, Wade. This is crazy, but I love you too.”

I kiss her again and I feel like I could do it all over again. But hesitantly, she pulls away from me, and I know something is about to get in our way.

“I’m sorry, but my dad is coming to pick me up. He’ll be here soon. I have to get ready to go.”

I don’t want her to go anywhere. I’m filled with irrational anger at her father. Doesn’t he know who his daughter belongs to now? But I can see the concern in Harmony’s eyes, and I know she’s not ready to tell him about this, aboutus.I don’t want to have to go without her until tomorrow, but I have to respect her wishes for now.

“Okay, baby. Whatever you need.”

We dress quickly, but all I can think about is my continued desire. The sex was amazing, but there’s something inside me that knows I’ll never be satiated. The second we finished, I wanted her again. I guess I’m making up for lost time. As she finishes getting dressed, I grab her by the waist and pull her close.

“I’ve wanted you for so long,” I growl. “Ever since your eighteenth birthday party. I can’t believe you’re finally mine.”

“I’m forever yours,” she breathes. Our lips come together in a final kiss. But as our lips touch, the door to my office flies open. Standing in the doorway, amidst all the chaos in the room, is Harmony’s father. My friend.

Now we’re screwed.

Chapter Four

Harmony

“What the hell is going on?” my dad cries. I didn’t want to face him so soon about all of this, but I know I don’t have a choice now. He’s definitely put two and two together. I take a step toward him.

“Dad, don’t be angry. This thing between and Wade and me...its new, but we’re in love. I know that’s not what you want to hear. I know you expected something more of me, but you don’t understand how much we care for one another.”

“You barely know each other!” my dad cries. Wade joins me at my side, stepping in front of me slightly in a protective manner.

“We do,” he growls. “I know her better than anyone. It’s not about the time we’ve spent together. It’s about understanding one another. I love your daughter, and I plan to spend the rest of my life with her.”

“Like hell, you will! Get away from her!”

“No,” Wade snarls. “You’re not in control here. Back off before someone gets hurt.”

“Dad, listen to me,” I say calmly. “You’re so intent on controlling my life that you don’t ever listen to what I want or need. I told you college wasn’t for me, and you tried to make me go. I told you I wanted to make my own way in life, but you forced me to get this job. And while I’m glad you did because I met Wade you need to stop trying to take over my life. It’s mine, not yours. Now I’ve fallen in love and I know what I want. I’m leaving this job to pursue my music. I’m going to build and raise a family with Wade. And there’s nothing you can do to stop me.”

My dad stares at me in horror. I guess he wasn’t expecting me to stand up for myself, but I’m tired of lying back and taking everything on the chin. I’ve made my choice, and he’ll just have to live with it. He shakes his head slowly.

“Darling, I had no idea you felt so strongly. I...I’ve just been trying to do what’s best for you.”

“I know,” I whisper. “But I’m old enough now to make my own decisions. And sure, I might make mistakes along the way, but those are mine to make. And one thing is certain to me, Wade is not a mistake of any kind. We’re going to be happy together. I know it’s strange for you to see your daughter fall for your best friend, but you need to accept it because it’s not going away any time soon. Or ever. He’s my soulmate. I love him so much. Please try to understand.”

My father falls silent. I know I’ve shocked him, but I wish he’d say something, anything. He looks at me and then at Wade, clearly trying to figure out what to say. After a time, he sighs, his face fixed in a frown.

“I don’t know what to make of this, it’s hard for me to see.”

“I know,” I say quietly. “But I don’t need you to be fine with it right away. I just need you to give us a chance. We’ll prove to you that we’re ready for this. I know it seems strange to you, but this is the most natural thing in the world to me. It just feels soright. Please, Dad. Let me do this.”

He sighs, shaking his head once again. I can see the struggle inside him. I know that it’s going to take him a while to get this. But when he looks up at me again, he nods.
