Daniel froze. “What are you talking about?”

“While you two were fucking, I got the number for Butler Events from my boss, called them, and got you an interview for one o’clock today. Damn—” He blew on his nails. “—I haven’t been this productive before noon since doing sunrise yoga on my trip to P-Town.”

“Is that a euphemism?” Jensen asked Daniel.

“Ignore him,” he said and patted Jensen’s shoulder. “Casey, you can’t just set interviews up for people while they’re sleeping.”

He shrugged. “Obviously I can. Now, Arlo’s agreed to look over your résumé because we know fuck all about that paperwork shit. I have a suit you can borrow, since we’re roughly the same size. And Brody has breakfast started if you haven’t gotten enough sausage already this morning.”

“Casey—”

“Yeah, yeah, you’re welcome!” He blew Daniel a kiss, then sauntered out of the room like it was a fucking runway and he hadn’t just set Daniel up for complete humiliation.

“What the fuck?” Daniel said and collapsed onto his bed.

Jensen sat down next to him, causing the bed to dip and Daniel to slide closer. Daniel kept the momentum going and turned onto his side, his face smashed up against Jensen’s thigh. Long fingers started brushing through Daniel’s hair.

“It was very nice of your roommate to arrange that for you.”

He lifted his head just enough to glare at Jensen. “Nice? He set up an interview I’m not qualified for. God only knows what lies he told to get them to agree to it.”

Jensen hummed and looked straight ahead for a moment. When he had collected his thoughts, he met Daniel’s eye again. “Okay, what’s the worst-case scenario? You get in there and they say you aren’t qualified and you don’t get the job?”

“Yeah, pretty much.”

“That’s not so bad.”

Daniel made a noise in the back of his throat. “Not that bad? That’s humiliating.”

“I humiliate myself all the time,” Jensen said casually. “I think it’s worth the risk though.”

Fuck, he was kind of right. They might laugh Daniel out of the building, but so what? It wasn’t like he’d ever have to see any of them again. At the very least, he’d have an excuse not to attend any other parties for Casey’s work again.

Was Daniel seriously going to walk into a legitimate business and ask them to hire his whore ass?

“This is such a bad idea,”Daniel said, staring out the window.

“I also don’t like parking on the street, but I didn’t see a parking garage or paid lot close. I can try looping around the block?”

Daniel let out a laugh. “Not the parking, Jensen. I’m talking about the job interview. I think we should just go.”

“No way,” Casey said, leaning forward so his head popped up between the two front seats. “This is a great idea. Janelle’s assistant was super excited when I told her I knew someone that wanted to apply.”

He turned in his seat and looked at Casey, an eyebrow raised. “Were they?”

“One hundred percent.”

Well, Daniel didn’t believe that at all. It was more likely that the company didn’t want bad blood with the porn studio. But Casey had called up the company himself and somehow created a job interview out of thin air, so Daniel wasn’t going to voice his disbelief.

“Think of this as practice,” Brody said. “Get the first interview out of the way so you’re less nervous about future ones.”

“Except you won’t need any future ones because you’re totally going to get hired.”

Daniel wished he had Casey’s blind optimism, but Brody was right. This was good practice. He hadn’t gone through an interview process since he’d started at the Lillian, and he was bound to be a bit rusty. This meeting with Janelle would help him get back into the groove.

That actually did make him feel a bit better about making a nervous fool of himself.
