“I’m trying to picture you in bed, but the unknown is distracting me.”
A wicked smile grew on Daniel’s face. “Are you touching yourself?” His unoccupied hand crept up his bare chest. With a gentle touch, he started circling his nipple with his fingertips.
“Yes. Now, bedsheets. Are they the green ones I saw yesterday?”
“The very same,” Daniel confirmed, highly amused and turned on by the urgency in Jensen’s voice. “I ended up not doing laundry today.”
The quietest “fuck” came through the phone, barely audible.
“Do you want me to set the scene more, darling?” Daniel pushed his underwear off his hips. “I didn’t do the best job drying off after my shower, I was too excited to talk to you, so there’s a few drops of water on me. On my collarbone, on my happy trail. Would you lick them off me, handsome?”
A low moan came tumbling from Jensen, spurring Daniel.
“I took off my briefs so I wouldn’t ruin them. They’re the black ones you’ve seen before; do you remember the photo I sent you of them?”
“I’ve looked at it a hundred times.” Jensen’s breathing picked up. “When I zoom in, I can see the outline of your dick.”
Daniel let out a breathy laugh as he moved to play with his other nipple. “Are you studying my cock?”
“I want to. I want to know every vein. I want to know how it throbs better than my own heartbeat. I’d study it for hours if you’d let me. I could spend a whole day touching it, sucking it.”
It was Daniel’s turn to moan. Ditching all efforts of taking it slow, he gripped his shaft and started to stroke it in time with his galloping heart. “Fuck, Jensen.”
Quickly, they dissolved into frantic movements on either side of the line. Their heaving breaths were broken up only by whispered curses and unrestrained moans.
“Daniel,” Jensen whined from the other side of the phone, bringing chills rushing up Daniel’s arms.
“Are you going to come for me?” he asked and spread his legs on the bed so he could start fucking up into his fist. He wanted to come with Jensen; it had become one of his favorite things since they started jacking off together.
“Yes,” he cried, then cursed. The low groan that followed had Daniel falling over the edge, his whole body shaking and erupting in ecstasy.
“Fuck. Fuck, that was good,” Daniel said breathlessly as he lay limply on his bed. The late night and sudden release had him feeling heavy and exhausted—his eyes staying closed as he felt around for his discarded briefs. He threw them on the floor after quickly wiping himself up.
Jensen sighed and moved around in the bed, causing a rustling to filter through the line. “I miss you.”
Daniel’s heartbeat that had been calming in the comedown stuttered and picked up again. It wasn’t the words that had his throat getting thick but the way Jensen said it.
Daniel had been told by his regulars that they missed him in their time apart, but he knew they really just missed the services he offered them. With Jensen, he knew he was actually missed. It was so obvious in the longing and resignation that Jensen didn’t even try to hide in the statement.
And Daniel missed him too. Beyond all logic, and even though they’d only been together for a weekend, Daniel missed the man’s company. Each day that passed, he missed Jensen a bit more. When the feeling set in, he texted or called him, but that only built on the yearning.
Daniel wasn’t even sure what he was yearning for. A relationship with Jensen was completely out of the question. Soon enough Daniel would go back to his job, his real job, and there was no way a self-respecting man like Jensen would be okay with Daniel getting fucked left, right, and sideways. He saw more action than a movie studio’s back lot and couldn’t offer exclusivity. He couldn’t offer loyalty, not unless he wanted to fall behind on rent and start getting calls from collections again.
Hell, he couldn’t even give Jensen his company while he wasn’t at work. They lived in different states, and Daniel didn’thave the means to move even if he wanted to uproot his life for a man he barely knew. He was done making stupid decisions, and relocating for Jensen this early in their unconventional and undefined relationship would be a horribly stupid decision. Maybe top five worst ones he’d made. That, of course, didn’t stop Daniel from wanting to pack a bag, leave his old life behind, and run to Jensen.
“Miss you too,” Daniel said finally.
He got a hum in response, signifying he’d waited too long in the silent night and Jensen was already half asleep.
“Get some sleep,” Daniel said tenderly, nuzzling further into his pillow. This arrangement would have to be good enough for him. For as long as it lasted, he would gorge himself on the attention and affection Jensen offered so readily. Maybe he could hoard enough that when it was taken away, he wouldn’t starve.
Music hit his ears as he opened the door to the house. The air-conditioning hit him next, which he was more than thankful for. The iced coffee in his hand had helped keep him cool while running errands, but the afternoon heat was more pervasive than a herpes sore and just as angry.
Daniel kicked the door closed behind him, left his keys in the dish Casey had made during one of his frequent and short-lived hobbies.
As he walked down the stout hallway to the open area of the house, the music got louder along with the sound of voices.
“Hey,” he greeted Casey and Brody, who were seated on either side of the leather couch. Brody had his computer in his lap, studying the screen. Casey was filing down his nails, a towelcovering his chest and lap to catch all the dust, most likely so Arlo wouldn’t flip about it later. A pop icon’s music video played on the TV.
