She brushed her thumb along his bottom lip.
“But not now… now, I simply ache. Too long have I been without your touch. Too long have I wondered if I would ever partake of it again.” Her voice softened. “Please. Do not make me wait another moment.”
He looked up at her, blue eyes burning. “Then come to me, starlight.”
She straddled his lap, her knees sliding along the smooth underwater ledge. He reached beneath the water, lifting her and lowering her into place until she perched on his thighs, their chests nearly touching.
One arm encircled her back. The other cupped her cheek.
“I promised to behave.”
“I won’t hold you to that,” she breathed.
His arms shook. He hugged her tighter. The oceans of his eyes churned with a new storm. His hand traced her jaw, slipping down to cradle the back of her head. She shivered. They both did.
A bloom of heat, deep inside her. Like liquid lightning, it flashed through the very core of everything shewas. And thenneed. A hunger long unsated, tugging inside her, scratching at the walls, scraping past all the armor she’d donned over half a century.
His hands smoothed down her waist as they shared first one breath.
Then another.
He adjusted his hold on her, his hands squeezing the supple flesh of her thighs as he pressed her against his swelling length.
Together, they breathed.
His thumbs pressed into the flatness of her belly, and she gasped. One by one they spiraled upwards until his fingertips grazed the underside of her small breasts. A wave of dizziness, and she careened towards him like a wounded bird in flight.
Their lips met, two breaths finally becoming one.Now molded into singularity, they pushed and pulled. His tongue pressed against her mouth, and she needed no coaxing to let him sweep over her senses. His heat. His scent. His hands. His strength.
She lethimfill her long before their bodies melded skin to skin.He was hard and hot, and sweet. Smooth and wet to the point of blind delirium. She moaned into his mouth, her arms wrapping around something she could never hope to fully embrace.
It was too much.Hewas too much.Radiating heat and mana and hunger like the sun itself. Taking over every piece of her world, even the ones she hadn’t realized meant anything.
“Kailorien,” she gasped. “Kail…I’ve wanted you for so long.”
“You are my breath, Auryn,” he answered. “That Ieverlet myself live so long without air is my greatest sin.”
He molded his lips with hers again. Just like water. Shaping. Forming. Breaking down her reason, piece by piece, until only pleasure remained. Only a pulsing hunger for more of him. They kissed and kissed and kissed. Two coals bringing each other back to life.
His tongue slipped against her lips—delicious, smooth, demanding. She whimpered, and his fingers caressed her jaw.
“Open wider,” he urged, and she took him in, letting him coax her mouth into pliant, languid submission as his tongue drove all her remaining thoughts into a deep and muted hush.
It was just him now.
Just his hands.
His fingers.
His breath.
He drank each of her moans like nectar—drunk on her need, reeling from the dizzying want soaking through the tether of their Bond. For each edge he softened, she swelled with how hard she made him. That he desired her this much—enough to lose his stoic shell, enough to shed it only for her—was euphoria.
His lips pressed sloppy kisses to every corner of her skin. Warming. Heating. Devouring. She bloomed in turn, a sapling aching for the onlysun she’d ever known. His big hands held her as she arched, taking her delicate breast into his mouth with a groan.
He shuddered when she twisted, moaned, and pulled on his hair. Emboldened, he suckled her until she sobbed, then kissed away the ache until she begged for more. She tried to cover her mouth with her hand, but he laced his fingers with hers, kissing her wrist.
“No,” he murmured against her chest. “Let me hear how much you’ve wanted me.”
