“Which part?”

She hesitates as I start wiping down her skin. Right now I wish the cabin had a real bathtub, but there’s not enough space for that and I doubt she’s going to stand up. “You’ll fuck the memories away until there’s nothing left?”

The corner of my mouth hooks up in a smirk. “You doubt that?”

“You don’t have to do that,” she says quietly, and I glance up at her face. Her eyes are still closed. “You called me Brynne.”

“You are Brynne,” I remind her. She’s a lot chattier than I thought she’d be. I half expected her to fall right back asleep.

She shakes her head, rolling to the other side. I can hear the sleepiness in her voice when she speaks. “Brynne’s a loser. Kimber’s who I chose to be.”

I frown and stew over what she said, cleaning her up when she doesn’t protest.

Touching her shoulder, she snores but doesn’t stir. I sigh and go put the supplies away, joining her on the bed again before I glance up at the stars.

I’m sure she’s asleep this time, or I wouldn’t bother saying it. Not right now. “I like both Kimber and Brynne. But I’ll like you no matter who you choose to be.”
