But all he could think as he ran out the door was that if he was a vampire, he could rip out Vincent’s throat and have sweet revenge with blood.

CHAPTER 19

Carver had magnificent blood, and having an intimate audience was intoxicating in its own right. Roger had pinned Carver flat to the couch, the boy’s wrists over his head and held in one of his, and he remained bent over him as he continued drinking down liquid heat. The touch of blood on his tongue and his throat brought a rush of power.

As part of the bite, Roger had twisted his metaphorical fingers through Carver’s lust and brought it to the surface. He had his knee between Carver’s legs, and he could feel Carver’s length hardening. The boy’s lust continued to build without Roger’s magical influence.

His wasn’t the only one. Takashi was seated across the way. From his chair, he would have a perfect view of Carver’s slackened lips and fluttering eyes. They were in the living room of the suite. Though Roger had partaken of donors in public frequently since his return to the city, there was nothing quite like enjoying a feeding in privacy. Without the cloud of others, Roger could easily sense Takashi’s growing desires as well.

Roger lifted his mouth from Carver’s neck and smirked at Takashi. As he’d suspected, Takashi was sitting with his legs wide, his dick tenting his pants. Carver allowed his arm to drapeover the side of the couch. Roger leaned down and coaxed him to straighten out his arm, his wrist pointed at Takashi. In a low, rumbling whisper, Roger said, “He has plenty, love.”

Takashi slid off the chair and crawled over. He took Carver’s wrist between his hands and skillfully bit where the blood wouldn’t gush too quickly.

Roger returned to the wound on Carver’s neck. With long, slow licks, he caught what blood was spilling without drawing more out of him.

Whimpering with want, Carver began to rut against Roger’s leg. Takashi groaned a deep, hungry sound. Likely, he was tasting what Roger had enjoyed; Carver had a natural fire in his soul. Wound up like he was, the boy was liquid pleasure.

A sudden pang of cold preceded Zack into the room. Zack was drenched in sweat, oozing the acrid touch of fear. He smelled absolutely divine otherwise. And with his flushed skin and reddened cheeks, Roger longed to snap him up for a nibble.

Zack stopped short, watched Takashi continue to drink from Carver’s wrist for a moment, and then met Roger’s gaze. A week had passed since Roger had last tasted him, and he allowed that hunger for him to show in the way he drank in Zack’s appearance.

Because Zack wasspectacularin every way. Absentmindedly, Roger touched the open collar of his silk shirt and traced the fabric’s edge down to the center of his chest, where he’d finally bothered to button it.

But when he locked gazes with Zack once more, Zack clenched his jaw and stomped off toward the master bedroom.

Smoothly, Roger stood and used a burst of speed to follow. Just as he reached for him, Zack grabbed him by the wrist and spun. Even with supernatural senses, Roger almost lost track of how quickly Zack had him pinned up against the wall.

Trapped between Zack and a wall wasn’t a terrible place. Roger grinned. “Sweetheart, if you wanted to top, you only had to ask.”

“This was reflex,” Zack growled. He released Roger. “Never surprise a hunter.”

“What’s gotten into you tonight?” Roger asked carefully.

“Don’t treat me like that.” Zack yanked open a dresser drawer and rooted around in it. Eventually, he tossed some clothing onto the bed and shut the drawer with a thud.

Roger turned around and leaned against the wall. “Like what?”

“Like I’m some kind of bomb primed to go off.”

“Slamming drawers isn’t convincing of a calm attitude,” Roger replied. “Were you jealous?”

“Of what? The impending vampire orgy in the living room? I don’t give a shit.” Zack stalked off toward the bathroom.

Roger grabbed him by the waist and hauled him up against the wall. “An orgy takes more than three people.”

“Listen, if you want to go play hornball with Carver and Takashi, I don’t give a flying fuck,” Zack snapped. He pushed Roger’s arm.

Roger didn’t budge. Something had clearly gotten under Zack’s skin. “What has you so riled up?”

“Don’t you check the internet?” Zack shoved with more strength.

Not wanting to anger him further, Roger released him and let him head into the bathroom. He went back into the living room and drew out his phone. With the shower running in the distance, he opened a search browser but stopped. The internet was a wide, varied place. How the hell was Roger supposed to figure out which one thing was bothering Zack?

“What is it, love?” Takashi said lazily. He had his hand around Carver’s cock and was pumping him slowly. Carver was writhing against the couch.

A delightful moment, though Roger couldn’t help being preoccupied with Zack’s mood. His anger was a cloud on an otherwise starry night. Ignoring such a thing was Roger’s usual reaction, but the notion of carrying on while Zack was hurting bothered him.

Roger frowned, his brow pinched. “Do either of you know why Zack would be pissed? And tell me to check the internet?”
