Oh fucking hell. Guess there’s going to be two dead bodies tonight. I can’t leave any witnesses.

“Stupid boys. I hate him. I fucking hate him. They’re all pigs. Ugh!” the voice shouts. “I deserve better.” They sniff. “Looks aren't everything you know!”

“Callie?” My eyes widen when I get a good look at who it is.

Callie’s head snaps up at the sound of my voice.

She blinks a few times, looking from me, down to the body, and back up to me.

“What's wrong?” I ask, seeing she’s clearly upset. Is she crying too? Oh, I’m going to kill that mother fucker.

“Where is he?” I growl. “Was it Jimmy? I’m going to kill him!”

Her eyes fill with horror as she stumbles backwards.

“Callie, wait!”

“Don’t hurt me!” she screams.

“Wait!” I demand, lifting the mask. “It’s just me.”

She pauses, brows furrowed. “Nola?”

“You’re upset. What's wrong? Did he hurt you?” I ask again.

“What?” She shakes her head. “Who? Nola, is that girl dead?”

“Huh?” I blink, then look down at the body at my feet. “Uh shit,” I groan. “I took my mask off.” I look at the mask in my hand. “Yup.”

“Is that girl dead?” she asks again.

“Hypothetical question, if I said yes, what would you say?”

“I’d ask why the hell she’s dead?”

“Hypothetically, what if I said I killed her?” I ask her questioningly.

“I’d ask why?!”

“Then, hypothetically, I’d say she fucked my boyfriend.”

“Wait, but you don’t have a boyfriend.” She cocks her head to the side. “So that wouldn’t make sense.”

“What would you say if I told you I had three.”

“Nola,” she growls. “Stop beating around the bush. What the fuck is going on?”

“Okay, but I must warn you, if whatever I tell you leaves the two of us—if you tell anyone what you've seen—I will have to kill you. And I really don’t want to because I like you. And well, you're my boyfriend's sister, and I don’t think murdering you would be a good start to our relationship.”

“You’re dating Sylas?” she asks. “Why didn’t you say anything? How come he didn’t tell me?”

“Well, you see…” I start off, laughing awkwardly. “He doesn't know. Yet!” I rush out. “But he will. Soon. After everything goes according to my plan.”

“Uh-huh,” she says slowly. “And that plan would be?”

“Sylas, Jasper, and Wesley think I’m too sweet and pure to be their girlfriend,” I sigh. “And I don’t blame them, I look like a dumbass any time I’m around them. But that's not who I am. I’m not what they think.”

“Clearly.” She looks back down at the dead body. “So, you’re killing this girl to show them you’re not as innocent as they think you are.”
