SUNDAY — SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO
Now playing: Kiss Land - The Weeknd
Afterbattlingourwaythrough a sea of colleagues, Silas and I finally made it to the locker room, nearly stumbling face first into the space. Our adrenaline crashes were hitting simultaneously, to the point where we walked with arms slung over one another just to stay upright. We were spent. Exhausted in a way we couldn’t even describe.
Our bodies were battered, blooming with fresh, angry, purple bruises, and stained in each other's blood. We looked like we’d clawed our way out of the absolute depths of hell, and it had me questioning my sanity. Because why thefuckdid Silas look so goddamn sexy like this?
I clutched my kilt and leather jacket in my hand while Silas toted around his newly won ten pounds of gold and leather. In his other hand, was the Taino Sun necklace and the flag he made the referee promise he’d get back. The fabric was stained with dark droplets and smears of our blood. It was gruesome, but Silas still carried it in his massive hands with unwavering pride.
His excitement was electric. Hell, so was mine. Here we were, together, and we’d both accomplished everything we’d ever dreamed of, even if the road hadn’t been a straight shot.
Through his beaming pride, though, I caught the familiar shift in his eyes. My instructions were waiting on his phone. My guy was horrible at hiding his anxiety.Granted, he was anxious all the time. His baseline resting state was normally pure nerves, but right now, it climbed right to the surface.
The second we stepped into the locker room, we parted ways, instantly met with more praise and back-pats from our coworkers. I headed right for my bag, ripping things out quickly. My skin itched from the drying sweat and tacky blood that coated my body. And as much as I enjoyed the filthy aesthetic of being covered in Silas’s blood, it was starting to grate on me.
I slowed my pace when I noticed Silas across the room, staring down at his screen. His broad posture immediately stiffened as he read my texts. A smirk played on my lips as I watched him cautiously look into his duffel bag like I had told him to. His eyes went wide as he quickly zipped it shut again. Something told me he wasn’t expecting to find a thick silicone plug or a skimpy lace thong sitting there waiting for him.
He furiously began typing on his phone as he started pulling his own stuff out to head to the showers.
You could have warned me that was in there.
Where’s the fun in that, baby?
Are you serious?
Dead serious.
Silas’s eyes shot up from his screen, glaring daggers at me across the busy room. I completely ignored his lethal stare, only offering a smug wink as I walked to the showers.
There were a few other guys in there, and I was thankful this locker room actually had individual shower stalls instead of the giant, exposed communal ones most venues subjected us to. I slid into the stall on the far end, cranking the water as hot as I could physically stand it. The scalding burn eased the deep ache after a brutal match like that, and I was desperate for some relief. Even though my bodyhad been beaten and bloodied for over an hour, and was thoroughly exhausted because of it, my night wasn’t over. In fact, it was just beginning.
I had filthy, depraved plans for Silas, and I wasn’t about to go back on them now. Especially since I knew he’d do exactly as I asked and wear the plug and thong to the hotel for me. We’d call that my little make up gift for passing my title to him.
I showered quickly, enjoying the sting of the water and the feel of my screaming muscles relaxing. The sight of the crimson water washing down the drain made my stomach churn. I tried to ignore it, to push down the dark, suffocating thoughts it brought to the surface. But I couldn’t shake the terrifying memories of my childhood. Flashes of nights where I stood shivering in a grimy, freezing bathtub, rinsing my blood down the drain after another brutal beating from my shit-faced biological father.
As I stepped out of the shower, a towel wrapped loosely around my waist, I noticed Silas in the stall across from mine but didn’t speak. I knew he’d be done soon, and I needed to get my head in the game.
Unfortunately, what this arena made up for with individual shower stalls, it severely lacked in changing spaces. Normally in this scenario, I’d wait out the bathroom stalls so I could get dressed in peace. But seeing as there were only a handful of them and several other massive guys already waiting, I opted to slide my boxer briefs on under the towel. It was better than prolonging my ultimate goal: to get Silas to the rental car and completely fuck with him using his new toy.
As soon as I was finished, I headed for the hallway just outside the locker room, and leaned against the concrete wall. People continued to walk by, offering their congratulations and praising the violence of the match.
Silas appeared roughly ten minutes later, trying his absolute hardest to seem normal. To anyone else, he probably looked like he always did: a massive, untouchable powerhouse. But I knew his body better than I knew my own and saw right through the facade. His cheeks were flushed a beautiful, faint pink, and his walk had noticeably stiffened. His thick thighs were pressed a fraction closertogether to keep the toy secured deep inside his ass, while the thin string of the lace undoubtedly rubbed indecently against his crease with every step he took. He had something to hide, and we both knew it.
I smirked at him as he walked toward me. He looked so damn good in an old hoodie of mine, and for once, a pair of hisownsweatpants. He glared at me the second he saw the wicked amusement on my face.
“Don’t give me that fucking look,” he grumbled under his breath as he got close.
“What’s wrong? You’re acting like you’ve got a stick up your ass,” I teased, my voice dropping into a low, entirely too pleased rumble.
Silas didn’t say anything. Instead, he slapped my chest and shoved me backward. Clearly, he didn’t appreciate my humor.
We walked out of the venue in an electrically-charged silence with Silas tossing me the keys as we approached our rental. I clicked the button on the fob. The trunk popped open, and I pulled Silas’s heavy duffel bag off of his shoulder.
“I can put my own bag in the car, you know.”
I cut my eyes at him, my gaze dark and possessive. “Don’t take away my boyfriend duties.”
Silas rolled his eyes with a huff as he walked around to the passenger door while I tossed our bags in. As soon as he was around the side, I unlocked my phone and opened the app, purposefully refraining from turning the vibration on just yet. I slid into the driver’s seat, making a point to keep my phone resting right on my thigh, easily within reach.
