“Oh,” I yelled as white-hot pleasure started to erupt in me.

Damn it, he might actually be right.

“Squeeze my dick again, Sophia, and I’m going to unload,” he said between clenched teeth.

I screamed in pleasure again, as my head fell forward onto his shoulder. “Shit, I’m coming.” My pussy clenched around him in a vice grip as my orgasm took over, seizing my body in pleasurable convulsions.

Leo unleashed a string of curses as his body immediately tightened and his dick throbbed in me with his own release.

He held me there, his lips against my neck as we caught our breath. He pulled my earlobe into his mouth, sucking gently. Somehow, despite my recent climax, it still sent shivers through my body, igniting more need. He slowly pulled out of me and I groaned, missing the fullness of having him inside me. He set me down gently and pulled the condom off. He smirked at me and tossed it in the garbage just inside his bedroom, while I waited against the front door. He smiled as he walked back to me before sinking to his knees in front of me and lifting my dress up to my hips.

“Oh,” I cried out as his tongue touched my clit. “Are you always like this?” I gasped.

“Fair to the person in my bed? Yes,” he said, before running his tongue around the edge of my entrance. “Desperate to taste someone because I’ve been thinking about their pussy for days? Never.”

He returned his full attention to my clit, sucking it into his mouth and using his tongue in a way that made my knees buckle. I came to one conclusion about Leo Harrison: he wasn’t feeding me any bullshit at all. For some reason, this man really did want me sexually, and it was the hottest feeling of all.

Making Sense of the Hockey Romance Craze

As a young womanwho reads a lot of contemporary romance novels, it’s hard to ignore the complete saturation of the hockey romance subgenre. If the book community is to be believed, hockey men are hot and complete Casanovas between the sheets. Still, I just couldn’t wrap my head around the appeal—or any of the sports-romance novels, really. I mean, who wants a professional athlete with a grueling schedule when you can have a gorgeous chef waiting at home to make you dinner every night? Or a handsome carpenter who can build stuff around the house?

When asked to cover the BU hockey games for the season, I was fully prepared to debunk this craze as being completely fantastical, something better shelved under romantasy than contemporary romance. Until I saw the boys doing their groin stretches. Ladies and gentlemen, have you seen those stretches? It seems clear to me that what’s written about hockey players is not a fantasy at all, but a very true reality.

Let me walk you through this: they’re tall and muscular, with definition that can only be achieved with significant dedication to theirnutrition and fitness. If they are that dedicated to a sport they love, how dedicated might they be to a special someone? BU players are required to maintain a certain GPA to play on the team and most of the guys I’ve talked to have majors they’re excited about like sports medicine, business, or communications and marketing. Some of them will play professionally for a period of their lives but they all have backup plans in case they’re taken out by an injury, which means they’re realistic planners. What’s hotter than that?

While the guys will tell you their groin stretches are just part of the flexibility required to play well, I think we can all imagine just how well that flexibility and strength can be combined and used for other activities. Some of us probably don’t even have to imagine since most of them are more than willing to give demonstrations. I guess what I’m saying is this: take your nose out of the hockey romance novels and come see the real thing at one of BU’s upcoming games this season. The way our boys float on the ice (and yes, move those hips) is bound to enhance your next reading experience.

Chapter Eighteen

Leo

Over the next weekand a half, Sophia and I hooked up after almost every game. Yet the sight of her walking out of my room, leaving me alone in my bed, had not gotten any easier.

The tiny part of me that had thought I could get her out of my system was laughing at me in a very loud, mocking sort of way. Jace was openly laughing just as hard since I’d told him I’d signed on to be friends with benefits with the girl who made me want things I didn’t think I’d ever want—like cuddling, and dates, and romantic words.

For someone who’d initially approached me with such little confidence, Sophia now tore my clothes off behind closed doors like the sex goddess I already thought she was. I didn’t know what research she was getting out of this for her book, but her confidence seemed to be healing, and that made me even happier than the utterly explosive sex we had.

After the first game of the season, she’d written another article about how hot hockey players were. In that article, she’d made itabundantly clear that a professional athlete was not her long-term relationship cup of tea, further cementing my status in her life as a great lay and nothing more.

“Pay attention, man,” Jace said, slapping the back of my head. “I just scored on you because your goalie was staring off into the stands.”

I blinked and refocused on the hockey video game we were playing. Jace had swung by my dorm about an hour after Sophia had left, forcing me out of my blissed-out relaxation. He said he hadn’t heard from me in more than a week, and this was his form of a wellness check.

“Sorry.” I took a sip of my beer and lounged back on my couch.

“You’re thinking about that girl, aren’t you?”

“Always,” I sighed.

Jace smirked. “Dude, I’d bet a thousand dollars you’re gonna marry this one.”

I chuckled, shaking it off. “Nah, she’s just…I don’t know. It doesn’t matter. She lives on the other side of the world and she’s certainly not looking for anything serious. She literally came to me because I’m the definition ofnot serious.”

Jace’s eyes roamed over my face. “Okay, if you say so.”

He doesn’t believe me at all.

We refocused on our game and I tried to get into it. Jace had always been good at beating me at hockey video games, and tonight was no exception given how preoccupied I was by trying to think of ways to spend more time with Sophia outside of my bed. Since I’d never wanted that with another woman before, I didn’t have the faintest idea how to ask for it. Unfortunately, neither did Jace, so there was no point in asking him.
