I swigged water between sets, stealing glances at the gap in the curtains in the wings where I knew Tatum was watching. Waiting for us to finish and come back to her.

A stagehand carried a stool out to center stage, and a wicked thought crossed my mind as Calix stepped into the spotlight with only his acoustic guitar in hand.

Slipping out from behind my darkened kit, I made my way backstage and around to where Tatum stood, quietly watching my twin hypnotize the crowd with his words.

I wrapped her in a hug from behind, absorbing her surprised flinch, waiting for her to realize it was me. She relaxed almost instantly, leaning into my hold as I maneuvered us so Calix would be able to see.

“What are you up to?” she murmured as I cupped her breast, slipping my other hand down the front of her pants.

“Sshh, just watch.”

I knew the moment Calix spotted us. The slight pause in his playing, undetectable to anyone who didn’t live and breathe these songs.

Pushing two fingers inside her, I sucked on her neck until I was sure I’d leave a bruise. I enjoyed sharing her with the others, but that didn’t mean I wouldn’t leave a mark to remind them she was mine. She gasped as I ground my palm against her clit. So sensitive. But those sounds were just for me. Gripping her jaw, I turned her head toward me, swallowing her moans as she shook in my arms.

Calix had given up any pretense of not watching when I looked over again, and when he lifted his chin, I had to laugh.

I wasn’t the only one who was a little possessive.

While Tatum caught her breath, I strode across the stage and shoved my fingers in his mouth, letting him taste the sweetest damn thing in the world. The crowd lost their minds, screaming like they were next in line for Calix’s mouth.

Nice try, but there was only one person who had that honor, and she was currently squirming in the wings. The look on her face was that of a woman begging to be fucked.

Forget the audience on the other side of the curtain. The support staff who might see us backstage. She was ours to do with as we pleased.

And that was an invitation I’d take up any day of the week.

Chapter

Twenty-Seven

Tatum

“Hey, Ma.”

It was amazing how easy it was to revert to a guilty teenager when you were speaking to a parent, even when said parent was the most amazingly understanding person in the world.

“Tater tots, how are you? When are you and Adam going to come and visit us?”

I took a deep breath, working through the disparity between Ma’s use of the nickname she’d given me as a kid and the feelings it evoked when Calix used it to mess with me.

“I’m good, but there’s something I need to talk to you about.”

I let it out in a rush. Adam’s betrayal—abbreviated to make it parent-appropriate, of course—losing my job, going on tour, and hardest of all, why I’d kept it from her for so long.

“Anyway, we’re heading to Madison in a couple of days, and I was hoping we could visit. I think you’d really like them, Ma.They’re good guys,” I finished weakly, wincing as a cramp sliced through my belly. Was it already that time again?

“Of course you’ll visit. I need to make sure those boys are taking care of you.”

“I don’t need to be taken care of, Ma.”

“I didn’t say you did, but you deserve it. After what Adam put you through… I still don’t understand why you didn’t tell me sooner, but you’ve sounded happier the last few times we spoke, so I didn’t ask questions.”

“I’m sorry, Ma.”

“No need for sorry, just give me the details for when you’ll be here, and we’ll have everything organized.”

I didn’t doubt it. Choking out a quick goodbye, I breathed deeply through a particularly vicious cramp before climbing back onto the bus.
