“I love you too,” she says.“My fated man.”

I sweep her into my arms and kiss her deeply.Hungrily.I’ll never get enough of her.

“Oops!”Larry says from the doorway.

“We’ll wait in the living room,” Janice says, trying to tug him away.

I pull back from Salem but keep my arm wrapped around her.“I would like to ask the two of you if you would accept me as your future son-in-law.”

Salem thumps me on the chest.“You haven’t even askedme, yet.”

“You want me to be your son-in-law?”

She gives me a look and her parents laugh.

Larry steps forward to clasp my hand in a firm handshake.“Welcome to the family, son.”

Chapter Thirteen

Salem

“Locke.I’mtryingtoget these invitations out.”It’s been two days since I visited my parents and everything since has been a whirlwind.Locke and I agreed to have a small wedding and to have it soon, but I didn’t think it would be held in a week.

But after thinking it through, I realized there was no need to wait. When you know you’re with the right person, that’s all that matters.

He kisses the side of my ear.

“Will you behave?”I twist to look up at him.

He lifts my hand to his mouth and kisses the gorgeous diamond he gave me.“I have something important to show you that can’t wait.”

“Fine.”I push back from the kitchen table. We’re at his beautiful house that he told me was also mine now and I should do whatever I like with the décor.I haven’t changed anything yet because I haven’t had time.

We walk into the laundry room, and he points to the new washer.“It’s installed.”

“Okay. It looks good.”I turn to go.

“Did you forget?”He steps into my path.“You said we should give it a try.”

I know what he means, but I love teasing him.“Give what a try?Laundry? But you don’t have any dirty clothes to wash.”

He starts unbuttoning my shirt.“This looks dirty to me.”

“I told you to behave.”

“No, you asked me to.I silently declined.”

I laugh as he drops the shirt into the washer.

He unfastens the button on my shorts.Bending, he drags them down my legs.

“So beautiful,” he says, palming the front of my panties.

The warmth from his hand sends a delicious thrill through me.“Your clothes look dirty to me,” I say as I unbutton his shirt.I stop halfway through to lift a necklace from his neck.I turn the ring on it over in my hand.“Is this the same wedding band I bought to fake being married?”

“Yes.When I took it from you, I had it put on a chain because I’ve always been the only one who was meant to be your husband.”

“We’re not married yet.”
