I run the silk fabric through my fingers. “He made it clear it’s casual.”
“I know we talked about this, but are you sure you’re okay with that?”
“Why wouldn’t I be?”
“You’re not a sex without some feeling kind of girl.”
“Well, I am now. It’s the year of trying something new, remember?”
Sally smiles. “It sure is. You can tick ‘having sex with a hot, sexy guy’ off your list.”
“That definitely was not on my list. Besides, it hasn’t happened yet.”
“It will. I’d tell you to record the event, but I don’t think you’re kinky enough for that.”
I hear a deep chuckle in the background.
“Who’s that?” I ask, surprised. She has a man in her bed, and we’re talking about my sex life.
“What?” Sally pulls a confused expression.
“Who did I hear laugh?”
“Me?” Her eyes widen with innocence.
“Since when do you laugh like a man? Who’s in your bed?”
“No one?”
“I know when you’re lying.”
Sally’s shoulders slump. “I brought a guy home from the club.”
“A guy? What happened to Evan? I thought he was giving you a ride home.”
“Oh… umm… yeah, that was the plan. But we went our separate ways.”
I frown. “I don’t like that he left you with a stranger.”
“I made sure I let him know I got home safe.”
“Oh, okay. Why didn’t you tell me you had company? I wouldn’t have wasted your timeanddiscussed my sex life in front of a stranger. I could’ve called you back tomorrow.”
Sally waves a dismissive hand. “You can never waste my time. And Ilovetalking about your sex life. It’s about time it’s getting spicy.”
“I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“I’m wishing you the best sex of your life.” Sally beams.
I roll my eyes and shake my head. “Same to you.”
She giggles and winks. “Oh… it has been.”
After hanging up, nerves wrack through my body. The pressure of the night is consuming me. I have such high expectations, but what if it’s bad?
What ifI’mbad?
