“Let go of me.” I frown.

“No. You’re going to talk to me.”

“I think you need to let her go,” I hear Michel say to Julian. Even after such a short time, I know the sound of his voice.

“Look man, I’m just trying to have a conversation with my girlfriend.”

“It doesn’t look like she wants to talk to you. So. Let. Her. Go. Or I’ll be calling the police and you can explain to them why you feel the need to put your hands on a woman.”

“She’s my woman. I can do whatever the fuck I want with her.”

“That’s where you’re wrong.”

Michel forces Julian to let go of me.

“Go on up to your room. I’ll take care of him,” he says to me.

“Thank you,” I say to him as I head to the elevators and back up to my room.

Michel

“You need to leave and if I see you around, I will call the cops.”

The asshole laughs.

“Genevieve is my woman. Mine. I don’t know who the fuck you are and why you think you can keep me from her. But you can’t. As for calling the cops? Go ahead, my brothers in blue got my back.”

That fucker’s laughing as he says this to me. He’s a fucking cop? I watch him walk out of my hotel as my sisters come over to me.

“What was that about?” Noëlle asks.

“That douchebag was touching Genevieve.”

“Who’s Genevieve?” Amélie asks.

“Holy crap. You like her,” Noëlle adds.

“That asshole did something to her. I don’t know what it is. But I’m going to find out.”

“You said he’s a cop? That might not work out so well for you.”

“I don’t care. Maybe I can ask Salvatore if he can find more out about this asshole.”

Our Lake Renegade family has never let us down, and I think I need their help. I don’t like how he put his hands on my woman. And if there’s one thing I know about our extended family? No one touches our women. No matter who they are.

“I think we need to meet this Genevieve. Are you sure about her?” Noëlle asks.

“Are you seriously asking me that after you and Hunter?”

My sister sighs.

“I’m sorry, Michel. I shouldn’t have said that. If she’s the one? We’re behind you, but I still want to meet her. Can we meet her now?”

“Let me text her and ask. I don’t want to just show up at her door.”

“What room is she staying in?” Amélie asks.

“She’s in penthouse seven.”
