Dalox huffs a stream of smoke.

“It would appear my warriors did not wish to bring you clothing without my presence.” He cocks his head on one side. “Which was probably sensible of them but did not assist you.”

“I need to make it clear.” I swish my hand in the water. “I don’t want anyone waiting on me.”

“Mostly our systems are automated,” Dalox says. “I have certain privileges as their Lord.”

“I am not a lord, and I can get what I want myself,” I respond.

Does Dalox smile? I’m not sure because it is gone all too quickly.

“We have warriors who specialize in some areas outside that of what is expected of them. Some are able to create food which is more nutritious than that provided by the food dispensers. Some can brew our ale wine. Others are skilled in the use of the clothing machines or in weapons making,” he says. “We all play our part.”

“And what do you do?” I ask him, knowing I’m pushing my luck.

“I hold the center,” Dalox rasps. “Without me, it would all fly apart.”

DALOX

My Gillian tastes like all the favorites I’ve ever had. Sweet and soft, gentle and delicious. I could have supped from her all night if she’d let me.

As for my cock, it will have to wait its turn. Once she allows me access, it will be all the better for the wait.

However, I will have to take myself in hand severely at some point, or else I may just explode like a young warrior who has yet to master his shift and himself.

Nova-days which were a long time ago for me, and yet still apparently problematic, no matter how many nova-years I have been in the universe.

And, like a nevving idiot, a sarkarnling barely into warrior training, I’m staring down at Gillian as if I’ve never seen a female or tasted one in my entire life.

“I will be outside if you need me.” I garble out the words. “Unless you do not need me.”

“I don’t mind, if you don’t have anything else to do,” she says.

My heart soars to the stars. It pounds against my chest, my veins filled with the mating mix and my accelerant sacs definitely requiring emptying.

Gillian wants me.

I retire to her quarters, throwing myself down in the central pit where I consider shifting to my Sarkarnii form to gain some relief from my rut, but knowing it is a bad idea, I stay as I am. Instead I pull out my comm and dial up the topography for the second continent, the one I decided was less conducive to Sarkarnii habitation due to the heavy vegetation and damp temperatures.

An environment which always played havoc with my shed. Not that I need to be concerned about such a thing, not since I have had the cleanest shed I’ve had in nova-years, all thanks to my mate and my rut.

Nothing about the continent suggests there is anywhere to land a ship, let alone make some sort of encampment. Given Deus has not been seen since he escaped from Darax’s clutches, perhaps that is where he went, given he’s not in his sector.

Dante might think he’s the only warlord with access, but he’s wrong. I have ensured the place is empty of a mad warlord, wherever Deus is. It’s entirely possible he is rotting at the bottom of a ravine somewhere, given he decided he did not want to be part of our world or our mission.

However, I’m going to have to get inside his head, no matter how unpleasant it may seem, to work out where he has put his ship.

I pull up the latest scans of the second continent, ones I ordered following Dante’s departure from my quarters, leaving several destroyed platters of food and weaving a bit with the ale wine he’d consumed at my expense. Having given me a vague location and a belch.

“What are you doing?” Gillian slides into the pit next to me.

She is fully clothed, sadly, but she has a scent which instantly makes my cock unpouch. The unruly item is going to be the death of me.

“I have been informed there is a version of the wormhole mapping system which is still functional and can be trusted.” I show her the comm device. “Unfortunately it is located in the ship of a warlord who has long since gone missing.”

“Oh.” Gillian peers at the comm.

“I know it is located on the second continent, the one we chose not to inhabit. However Deus was particularly good at concealment, so it may take some time to locate his ship, and we’ll need some more high-level scans.”
