I never thought fate would bring me someone like him. Someone so caring and protective. Ever since my parents were murdered, I’d spent every second of every day busting my ass to make ends meet, sometimes barely even scraping by. I learned the real lessons of the world and came to terms with the sad fact that kindness and respect don’t come cheap. They, like everything else in life, had a price. And anyone could be bought. Money was power, and without it, you were nothing. And when I learned all those things, I made the choice to do whatever I needed to do to hold onto as much power as I could. I wanted to hold endless stacks of bills that would pay for independence and ensure no man could hurt me the way my instructor did.

I noticed Felix move from out of the corner of my eye and turned to see him reach into his bag. “I have something for you.” He then pulled out a small case and sat it atop the coffee table. I walked over and sat on my knees, looking at the industrial matte black box. “Do you know what this is?” he asked, pointing to it.

I nodded. “It’s a gun case.” I turned to look at him. “You got me a gun?”

Felix crouched down and unlatched the box, lifting the lid to reveal the cutest hot pink gun ever. “I did.” He carefully pulled it out and I admired it as I squealed. “You seemed comfortable holding the BB gun at Rage Play, and considering you said you know how to shoot, I figured it might be nice having this around.”

Who needs flowers when your stalker can give you a gun?

“Where did you find this?” I asked. “I’ve never seen a gun this color before!”

He gently rotated the firearm and offered it to me. “I have my ways.” I reached out and grabbed it, admiring its textured grip design. The gun was a bit heavier than I expected, but it felt nice in my hand. Felix explained a little bit about it and his choice of firearm as I raised it and aimed across the room. “I know most people would recommend a small SIG or Glock, but with your experience, I knew you could handle a bigger bang.” He grinned at his choice of words. “How does it feel? Not too heavy?”

I swung my arms, holding my posture straight as I aimed it right at him. “Colt 1911?” He nodded, seemingly impressed. “.45 ACP?”

“Only the best for my little cottontail.” I loved hearing him call me that.

I smiled, pulling the trigger. The gun made a loud clicking sound thanks to the empty magazine. “It’s perfect.” I lowered the weapon and carefully placed it back into the case. “But what’s the occasion?"

Felix sighed, latching the case shut. “Can a guy not buy his girl a present for the hell of it?”

No, there’s something else behind this gesture.

My hand touched his arm. “He can, but why areyougiving me this gun, Felix?”

The man visibly melted at the sound of his name. He smiled. “Nothing gets past you, does it?” I shook my head and he sighed. “I just want to make sure you’re always safe. Even when I’m not here to protect you myself.” He looked at the closed case. “Even if you don’t need to use it, keeping this on you will give me peace of mind.” His head turned and I noticed a faint sliver of fear hiding behind those green irises. “I won’t let anything happen to you, Dream.”

I scooted over until my body was pressed up against his. “Just promise me one thing.”

“Anything.”

I tilted my head, my hair pooling along the floor. “I’ll carry the gun, but I need you to stay safe, too. So promise me, no matter what, you’ll do whatever it takes to stay alive. For me.”

Felix leaned in real close. “I promise.”

I raised my hand up between us and with the most serious look, I put my pinky up. “Pinky promise?”

He laughed, his hot breath hitting my face as he looped his finger around mine and sealed it with a kiss. “Pinky promise.”

I kissed him back, wrapping my body around his when a naughty idea popped into my head. “Wait.” I pushed him back. “I have something for you, too.”

Felix’s brow raised. “Oh?” I nodded. “Well, go on. Show me.”

I jumped to my feet, grabbed his hand, and helped him up. “What?—”

“Just trust me.” I winked, leading him to the bedroom. “I think you’re going to like this one.”

I knowIwill.

I flippedthe page of my book, keeping an eye on the monitor across the room as I sat on my bed in a seductive pose, dressed in a delicate pastel lingerie set with matching lace butterflies sewn into it. Aside from my cute little leather choker, the only other thing I had on was my pink bunny ear mask, the long ears stretching high as I pretended to read. Candles burned all across the bedroom, flickering in the magenta-colored neon glow of my lights as music played in the background. I gently stroked a strand of my hair, watching my skin sparkle in the ambience from all the glitter I had on.

A sound came from the hall outside my closed bedroom door and I immediately sat up, looking away from my computer camera. The floorboards squeaked faintly and my heart began to race. I quickly looked around the room, searching for a place to hide when the doorknob turned.

The door slowly creaked open and I quietly crawled from the bed to the corner of the room, hoping the darkness would help hide me. I watched as a man, wearing all black tactical gear and a balaclava stepped further into the room. He stood tall, adjusting his gloves as he looked around, taking his sweet time. It wasn’t long before he spotted me, those green eyes fixated on me with intense focus. Felix tilted his head. I tried to bolt from the wall and run past him, but he was too quick, snatching me by my neck. “And just where do you think you’re going, little bunny?” He lifted me off my feet with no effort despite my kicking, and threw me onto the bed. I landed on my back, bouncing a bit as my hair sprawled all around me like a cloud. I tried to hide mysmile, eagerly curious to see what he was going to do next. My head rolled to the side as my eyes shot to him.

This is so fucking hot.

Felix approached the side of my bed. I tried to roll away, but he stopped me. “I said, just where do you think you’re going?” He flipped me over and onto my back, straddling my body as I tried to fight and kick him off. But he was so strong. He pinned my arms above my head, leaning in real close as I listened to his heavy breathing beneath the mask. His entire existence was giving off such an intense and dangerous aura, one that only real predators possessed. It made every nerve in my body tingle with anticipation as I stared at him.
