“Oh. Fuck, man. I got her pregnant. I’m going to be a dad again.”

E and I stared at him in stunned silence.

E cleared his throat. “What?”

“She’s four weeks and two days along. That adds up to when she was with me. I fucking knocked her up.” He grinned stupidly through his high and drunken state. “I am the king of sperm. My guys win every fucking time.”

“Cole,” I choked out. “Are you serious?”

“Yep.” He swayed as he stared at me. “I’m going to be a dad again. The bad thing is, she’s marrying Ass Hat and Ass Nut this week, so that sucks. I’m going to get her a ring, though, and go back to see her on my next days off. I’m going to marry her, too.”

I swallowed down the rest of my drink and poured another, the anger and resentment swirling faster inside of me.

“You don’t fucking know if the kid is yours,” I said to Cole. “She’s had other cocks aside from yours. Stop fucking claiming that energy. If it turns out not to be yours, you’ll break your own damn heart.”

Cole frowned. “It’s mine, Enzo. I know it is. This is my second chance.”

I sighed and rubbed my hand down my face. “It’s fucking not, Cole. You’re playing pretend with a woman who is already fucking married. She has enough cock!”

Cole sat up and glared at me.

“Furthermore, you need to stop fucking running off. You’re my enforcer with E. You can’t leave all this shit to him all the time. I need you. We’re a fucking team, and you’re failing us!”

“Enzo,” E called out. “Hey, you’ve had enough to drink.”

“You’re right.” I drank my new glass of alcohol in one go. “I have had enough.”

I got up and stormed out of the room and went to my room, slamming the door behind me.

Within moments, I was in my pajama bottoms, my shirt off, and lying in my bed, crying softly as I stared at an old picture of Rosalie on my phone. She’d taken a selfie of us together. It was my lock screen for years. Even after marrying Celeste, it was my lock screen.

I’d only changed it when it began to hurt too much to see her every time my phone rang.

It was over. She was marrying Anson and Klaus. She had a daughter with Cole. She was having another baby.

Nothing with me.

Not ever fucking again.

I hit delete on the image and cried softly, clutching my phone to my chest.

I stumbledinto Cole’s room later that night after waking and drinking some more.

He slept on his back, holding his phone.

I carefully reached out, took it, and swiped it open to enter his code. I stared down at what he’d been doing before he fell asleep.

Shopping for baby clothes.

In fact, he’d bought a shit ton.

And wedding rings.

He was serious about this.

I moved on to his texts to see he’d been talking to Rosalie before he’d fallen asleep.

Cole: I love you. I had a good time this weekend. Sorry for arguing with Anson so much. I’m trying.
