“I feel bad,” she said before she started to throw up again.
“Ryder, get that cup,” I said, pointing to the cup next to him on the sink. He filled it with water and handed it to me as she continued to throw up.
Anson took it from me and handed it to her. She rinsed her mouth, and Evan flushed for her.
“You don’t have a fever,” Evan murmured.
She reached for Anson, and he took her hand in his.
“Pregnancy test. Please,” she croaked out.
Anson didn’t move for several long seconds, and I swore my breath caught in my lungs.
Finally, he snapped into action and left, Ryder going with him.
“You think you’re pregnant?” I asked, kneeling next to her.
“I-I don’t know. This is how I felt before…”
I brushed her hair away from her face and looked to Evan. We’d messed around recently, but none of us had sex with her. She’d been so depressed over the horsemen thing that we didn’t want to push her.
He gave me a strained smile as he held her.
“Let’s get you into bed,” I said, reaching out to take her from Evan. He released her to me, and I helped her to her feet before sweeping her into my arms and carrying her to the attached bedroom.
I tucked her in, and Evan offered her some more water, which she drank down slowly.
“Mommy?” Ellis poked her head back into the room, a worried look on her face.
“Hey, baby,” she called out tiredly.
“Are you OK?”
“Yeah, I’m fine.”
“Can I be with you?” Ellis continued, clutching her bear.
“Yes. Come here.” Rosalie held her arms out to Ellis, who ran to her and crawled into bed. Rosalie kissed the top of her head before looking at us. “I’ll be OK. Go. I’ll send Ellis if I get sick again.”
Neither of us moved for a moment before finally leaving her.
The moment we got back downstairs, Evan sank onto the couch with his head in his hands.
“Anson,” I said. “He was the last one with her.”
“Cole,” Evan said, his voice thick. “Cole, too.”
I swallowed at that. “Well, isn’t that just fucking wonderful?”
“Fuck.” Evan sank back on the couch and closed his eyes. “Let’s just pray the baby is Anson’s if she’s pregnant.”
So I did, because none of us had a clue what the hell was going on with Cole fucking Scott.
