“What’s the situation with Enzo and E? They joining?”

“I really hope so, man. I’m trying. Enzo is… Enzo. Withdrawn. E is so focused on Riot. I think he’s worried Riot’s parentage will hurt Rosalie too much. He’s just in his head a lot. We’re working on it.”

“Work harder,” I said firmly. “We’re coming back into the life, and I really hope it’s not a permanent thing because if we come back, I’ll be in charge.”

Cole scoffed. “Like hell?—”

“That city has my name all over it, Scott. I’m the De Santis heir.”

“Foxy technically is,” Cole shot back.

I chuckled at that. “Bad news, then. Evan and I are on the same team. Imagine a very hostile fucking takeover.”

Cole was quiet for a long time before he spoke. “I’ll talk to the guys. We don’t want a war. You know that.”

“Then move faster. Take our girl breakfast. Try not to fuck shit up today.”

“Dick,” he muttered.

“Right back at you, fuck lips.” I disconnected the call and closed my eyes.

We really did need to all get on the same page here, or it really would be a hostile takeover. We already had set plans in motion.

“Iwant it. Make it so,” I said into the phone.

“Yes, sir,” Alan, my guy in Chicago, said. “Anything else?”

“I want it all. You know what to do.”

“Of course, sir. I’ll be in touch.”

I disconnected the call and sat back in my seat in my office in downtown L.A.

I came into the office early today to send the guys some housing options. Ryder called last night and told us Rosalie adored the apartment.

I knew we could definitely live there comfortably, but I really wanted something with a yard. Evan was on board with that because he liked having space for his motorcycles. Anson could swing either way on the matter, but I felt he was leaning more towards having a yard too.

Add to that Ellis needed a room, we had another baby on the way, and I knew we’d be outgrowing the place sooner rather than later.

So for now, it would do, but if we were going to shift everything back to Chicago, we’d need a bigger place.

I had Alan working on securing a prime piece of real estate for me that would make me a lot of money. I didn’t even need to work these days because I had so much damn money I could wipe my ass with it and still have plenty left, but if I quit working, I’d be bored as fuck, especially since Rosalie wasn’t around much.

On the other hand, it would free me up to travel with her.

It was something I was considering because the way shit was going, she needed me to protect her and not just send more men.

At this stage in my career, I had men to run things for me. I just needed to get shit sorted, and I’d be free to be with my wife.

My wife.

I smiled at the thought as I twirled my wedding band on my finger. I never thought I could have what I had. I still pinched myself to make sure it was real.

And to share her?
