“My god, shut up!” I blurt out. I do not need the visual of Chad experimenting with opening himself up as I’m attempting to get my dick to calm down. “If it will get you to stop talking, then fine. I’ll answer your question. I don’t bottom. Now go. To. Sleep.” I enunciate the command hoping to get through to him.

It doesn’t work.

“See, we’re super compatible,” he continues, sounding as cheery as ever. “I know today was a lot with me just showing up here and everything. But whenever you want to take that step, I’m ready. I’m so excited to be here! Sweet dreams, Hubby.”

There’s more rustling and tugging on the blanket as Chad finally settles in beside me. My cock is fully hard now. The way he so casually just handed me the power like that is too difficult for me to ignore, and the mere inches between us feel charged.

It’s taking every single ounce of my self-control not to give in and claim what he’s offering.

I need to stay strong.

Fuck. It’s going to be a really long week.

CHAD

Idon’t text Blake before I pull into the farm because I enjoy surprising him. Growing up, Blake basically walked into my house whenever he wanted to, completely unannounced. Since we didn’t spend all that much time with his parents, this feels like my way to show him how wonderful it is for your best friend to surprise you like that.

I’m not sure where he is though, so I park at the barn and check there first. To my delight, I hear his voice coming from inside. “Isn’t he so cute! Our wedding guests have no idea what we have in store for them, but they’re going to lose their minds. And if you’re a guest at our wedding, pretend to be just as excited. Or if you end up joining us for that music festival I’ve mentioned we’re hosting later this summer, he’ll be there too!”

Blake must be recording a video. He’s pretty popular online after the show, and it isn’t unusual for him to post updates on his day-to-day life for his followers. He recently posted about how choosing just one band to play for their wedding was too difficult, so he and Liam are going to host a whole-day festival to showcase them all. They’ve already sold a bunch of tickets. Maybe I should wait out here to surprise him when he’s donefilming, but I’m too eager to see the wedding surprise, so I interrupt him.

“This wedding guest wants to know!” I shout, coming into his line of sight.

And holy shit! There is a miniature donkey standing in the barn aisle, wearing a teal, red, and white windbreaker.

“Guys, my best man just got here early! Say hi, Chad,” Blake instructs, but I’m too busy staring at the new furry creature who I’m positive has never been here before. “Chad loves him too, look at him! He’s speechless.”

“Can I pet him?” I ask, eyes fixated on the cutest farm addition I’ve ever seen, and with Blake as my best friend, I’ve seen a lot.

“Yes, he’s so friendly,” Blake assures me, then to his phone he adds, “Alright, I’ll catch you all later! More updates soon, byeeee.”

I immediately crouch in front of the donkey to greet it softly while I pet it. “Hi. You are so adorable.” The donkey blinks at me as if it just knows it’s the cutest thing to ever exist. I am absolutely weak for this animal. “Why didn’t you tell me you were getting a donkey?”

“It was supposed to be a surprise!” Blake says with a laugh. “He’s going to be a beer burro for the wedding.”

“A what?”

“A beer burro. He’ll carry drinks around during cocktail hour.”

I had no idea a donkey could be a waiter, but that sounds like the most adorable thing ever. I turn to the donkey. “Are you ready for this level of responsibility?” The donkey just looks at me once again, expression unchanging. He’s focused. “He seems ready to me.”

“He is! I hired a trainer for him, and he picked it up really fast. He just walks around with the saddlebag full of drinks for people to grab. It’s perfect.”

“Please tell me you’re not getting rid of him after? Please don’t do that, Blake,” I beg, feeling a sudden but intense attachment to this donkey. Far more than those creepy chickens Blake loves so much.

“I can’t believe you’d talk about me getting rid of my own son, Chad! No, he’s ours forever. We actually have two, but the other one was lying down so I didn’t want to disturb her.”

“What are their names?”

“I haven’t fully decided. Maybe we can brainstorm while we do wedding prep!” Blake says.

“Does Liam have any input?”

“Chad, you should know by now that Liam loves me enough to let me make all the important decisions, like what to name the animals. It’s why we have such epic names in the first place like Ferdinand, Bruno, and Cinnamon. God, I love those cows. We should get more, don’t you think?”

“I do!” I agree easily.
