Our bodies were limp and tangled together like a pretzel. I was content to stay like this forever.

I smiled to myself. A week ago, I never would have believed this would be me. But it felt right that it was.

“I should get up and get us water,” June whispered.

“We can lay here a little longer.”

June nodded, but unraveled her body from mine. She moved up the bed and turned on her side. I rolled over next to her and pulled her against me, our bodies fitting together as we cuddled.

It wouldn’t be hard to fall asleep like this. Being in bed with her was cozy. Perfect. Her body was warm and soft and fit against me like a puzzle piece.

“Eventually you have to kick me out,” I sighed.

“Mmm . . . I don’t know. You could stay here.”

“Sleepover?”

June chuckled and turned over to face me. “Why not?” she whispered.

My heart raced as I tried to think of a reason as to why I shouldn’t. The only one that was coming to mind was—the ideaof falling asleep next to her made my chest feel fuzzy. Fuzzy and warm andscared.I couldn’t let myself fall for her, and that feeling was a warning that I very possibly could.

“I’m going to just walk back to the hotel,” I said. “We’ll spend the night soon. I just need to have my morning routine and . . .”

June nodded. I couldn’t tell if me saying no would hurt her feelings or not. “Want me to drive you?”

I shook my head and slowly sat up. My hair felt like a lion’s mane at this point. “I can walk. I don’t mind.”

“Okay.” June smiled up at me. “Well, you’re always welcome in my bed.”

I leaned in for a deep kiss. June pushed her fingers into my hair, holding me to her as I devoured her. Every part of me reached for her, and because of that I knew I needed to pull back.

I broke the kiss, our foreheads pressing together. “Are you sure you don’t want me to drive?” she asked.

I nodded and rolled out of bed, searching for my clothes. I took my time putting them on. “I’m sure. Plus, you’re cozy. You should just relax.”

“Are youabsolutely sure?”

“Yes. Walk of shame,” I chuckled. “Let me have this.”

June sighed, but flopped back down. “Okay. But you’ll text me when you get back.”

“Of course.”

“And you’ll tell me about your date with Dallas.”

My brows shot up as I slipped my sandals on. “Do you want to know about that date?”

June stared for a moment, but then nodded. “I would. I still think I should talk to him . . .”

“I think you should kiss him.”

She gasped, her mouth dropping. “What?”

I leaned over and planted a gentle kiss on her forehead. “I think you should kiss him. I think you should fuck him. I thinkyou should do all the things you’ve been holding yourself back from doing. I’ll see you this weekend.”

June swallowed hard. “Okay. Sleep well.”

“Oh god, I definitely will.”
