They’re staring at me, unmoving, as my chest rises and falls too quickly.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa. You’re good. We’re stopped,” Wells breathes out quickly before brushing my hair out of my face.
“No. It’s just—” My eyes travel from his green ones to Brooks’ baby blues to Brody’s perfect mixture before I say what’s in my head. “I’ve never done this orthatbefore…the thing Brooks washeading for. And too many thoughts started happening all at once.”
Brooks gently touches my foot. “It’s okay. We can take it slower or stop altogether. It’s always your call.”
I sigh before awkwardly putting my boobs back in my bra. They all scoot in closer on the bed toward me.
Brooks smiles. “Let me guess. You were worried you wouldn’t taste as amazing as grapefruit mixed with cleaner?”
I chuckle but shrug. “Maybe.”
That was definitely a thought.
Wells takes my hand gently. “Were you thinking about what your part was in all this? Like what to do?”
I nod. “Yeah, I don’t really know what to do if you’re not just humping me for five seconds, then rolling off.”
Wells looks physically ill before he shakes his head. “What a fucking loser.”
I laugh, agreeing with him.Okay. It’s crazy, but this is making me feel better.
Brody locks eyes with me. “Was that it? Or were there another one, two, three thousand more thoughts happening as well?”
I wince, then admit the truth. “Yes. Times ten.”
They’re smiling. And not judging. Which is helpful, but I still feel dumb. Because I’m cockblocking myself.
“I have this routine…” I offer quietly, seeing Wells grin. “It’s kind of a ritual I do when I’m on my own. It helps me relax.”
The interested looks of “ah” on their faces prod me on. “I turn down the lights…”
Unexpectedly, Brooks rolls off the bed and walks to the wall before the lights in the room dim. It makes the windows more see-through, and I realize that from their bedroom, we can see the ocean.
I swallow my nerves, continuing this new game. “I always light a candle.”
Wells winks, then jumps off the bed before heading to the seating area in their room. He strikes a match and lights a candle before putting it back on the coffee table.
Who are these guys? Because this feels like I’m in an alternate universe. How are they this nice?
“There’s also music.”
Brody stands, but I quickly add, “I have a playlist on my phone. It’s in the living room.”
He nods and jogs out and back in seconds, handing over my phone.
“What else?” Brooks coaxes.
But I bite my lip before I say, “Then I get my toys.”
“Plural,” he tosses out before Wells lowers back down to the bed and kisses my lips, adding, “She’s got the three she needs right here. Plus, I don’t wanna get hit again.”
“Hit?” Brody counters, but Wells laughs.
“I’ll tell you later.”
My face immediately finds my lap as Wells keeps laughing, but when he drags me up, I narrow my eyes at him. But he grins at me.
