She looked up with that radiant smile of hers.

“Yeah, that’s fine. I found a doggy day care for Cashmere, so he’s there today.”

“That’s what’s up. I tried that with Shadow, but he wasn’t beat for it. He likes to come here or stay at home. Occasionally, my brother will pick him up and take him to the hotel. He does like to walk by the beach.”

“Oh. Cashmere loves the beach, so we’ll have to go one day.” She pressed a few buttons on her keyboard, then looked up at me again. “I’m ready. I just have to use the ladies’ room.”

I slipped my hands into my pockets because I wanted to pull her into my arms when she stood up.

“I’ll be right here,” I told her and watched as she walked away.

The red pants she wore showcased the small curves of her hips and her handful of ass. The white shirt she wore was simple, but her breasts looked perfect in it. It tended to get cold in the station, so she wore a red blazer that matched the pants. I noticed she wore a lot of red, black, and white.

Instead of her hair being down like I liked, she had it tucked into a neat ball on the top of her head. I realized I liked it like that as well because it brought out the curvature of her neck and highlighted her cheekbones.

A few minutes later, Mycah emerged from the back, and when she got to her desk, she reached for her phone and bag.

“I’m all set. I guess you’ll bring me to my car when we are done.”

“Yes, ma’am. It shouldn’t take too long. I know you have to get Cashmere.”

I ignored the multiple pairs of eyes that watched us as we walked through the station. The only person who might express some concern would be Donna, but she hadn’t mentionedanything yet. Everyone knew that Mycah and I were working on the bash, so I didn’t think that anyone thought otherwise.

When we got outside, I helped her into the passenger side of my Ford Explorer. Once she was properly secured, I closed the door and walked around to the other side.

“Is this your everyday car, or only for work?” Mycah asked when I got inside.

“This is my work truck. I have a Mustang for everyday driving,” I told her as I buckled my seat belt.

“So a Ford guy, got it.”

“They are very reliable.”

I changed the radio station to a jazz station, then pulled out of the parking lot.

“Let me know if it’s too much air.”

It was a hot day out, so I had to put the air conditioner on. When I could, I liked to ride with the windows down because there was nothing like fresh air, but some days, it would be nothing but hot air blowing through the windows, and I hated that.

“I’m good. So where are we going?”

“There’s a park I wanted to check out. I’ve seen it before, but I wanted to get a good look at the layout.”

“A park is definitely a good idea.”

As I drove, we talked about the type of music we liked. She told me that her first concert was to see Jill Scott, where mine was Wu-Tang Clan. I told her that no matter how often I ate tacos, I could never get enough of them. I pretty much ate any type of taco, but it had to be on a flour tortilla, and I refused to eat corn on it. I did not like corn at all, which meant I didn’t like corn tortillas either. She told me that she hated coconuts but pretty much loved any other fruit.

It didn’t take long for us to reach the park, especially because our conversation just naturally flowed from one topic to the next.

There was hardly anyone out, so I easily found a parking spot.

After I shut the truck off, I walked around and opened Mycah’s door. She placed her hand in mine, then I helped her out.

I should have been paying attention to our surroundings, but instead, I watched Mycah as she looked around.

“The parking lot looks big enough. If possible, we could probably put some things in the parking lot and still have space for actual parking.” She hadn’t even looked my way because she was too busy looking at everything else. I could see the wheels turning as we walked through the entrance.

I finally tore my eyes away from her and looked around.
