Harvest and I had been keeping our relationship somewhat of a secret, but I was ready to put it out there for the world. People had speculated since we were spotted in Vegas, but we hadn’t confirmed it. We were just enjoying ourselves withouteveryone in our faces all the time. So far, when we went out, we entered through back doors and rented private rooms. Sometimes I would have a whole restaurant shut down just so we weren’t bothered. This date was us announcing we were together.

“I’d love to go on a date with you.”

“Good. I already cleared my schedule for tomorrow, and I know you are free as well.”

Harvest didn’t have a photo shoot for at least two weeks, so I was going to capitalize on her time as much as I could.

The video for Big Tex hadn’t come out yet, but I knew as soon as it did, Harvest’s phone would blow up. My baby owned the camera and that video shoot. She was the finest woman in that video. At first, I didn’t want to see him or anyone else with their hands on her, but I knew it was part of the job. Big Tex had respect for me, so things didn’t get out of hand. I’d been trying to get him to sign with me, but he loved being independent. I respected it and told him I’d be there if he changed his mind, or if he ever needed advice.

“I guess you have it all planned.”

I wrapped my arms around Harvest’s waist and pulled her close. She rested her head on my chest, and I inhaled her scent.

“I do.”

“Well, I can’t wait.” Harvest yawned, and before I knew it, she had fallen asleep.

I enjoyed the quiet moments we got to spend together. Harvest was just what I needed after a long day of dealing with people. She was my peace and comfort. With her, I was able to quiet my mind. The only thing I thought about was making sure she was good.

I’d blocked my entire day to spend time with Harvest. I made sure nobody needed me before I turned my work phone off. I still kept my personal one on, just in case my parents needed me. Everyone was notified not to bother me unless someone was dying. Harvest and I had been working hard, and I wanted us to be able to relax without any interruptions, and I made sure to tell Harvest that as well.

She’d stayed the night at my house, and we had breakfast in bed. After we had breakfast, we chilled for a little bit, then got ready for our day.

“I found you a bodyguard that I feel I could trust,” I told Harvest as we drove to our first destination.

“You really think that’s necessary?”

“Very necessary. I’ve seen how thirsty men be in your comments, and I don’t want anyone to try some shit with you. Aiden is a good dude and has plenty of experience. He used to be a marine before he started his own security firm. Him and Noah used to work together. If I didn’t trust him with you, I wouldn’t have hired him.” I reached over and rested my hand on her thigh. “He knows how important you are to me and that if something happens to you under his watch, then that’s his ass.”

“You sure threaten people a lot, don’t you?”

Turning toward Harvest, I smirked. “Oh, you think those are threats? No, sweetheart, those are promises.”

Harvest thought I talked to just to be talking, but that wasn’t the case. I took her and her safety seriously, and I wasn’t about to play any games when it came to her. Even with Noah vouchingfor Aiden, I still had multiple conversations with him. I needed to be sure he understood how precious Harvest was to me.

“Let me find out you’re an undercover thug,” Harvest joked.

“I just know a lot of people, and some of them would do anything for some money.” I would never call myself a thug or anything like that, because I had it good growing up. Of course, I had gotten into fights as a kid, but never anything crazy. Since being in the music business, I came across plenty of people. Some were sketchy but ended up cool. Some didn’t give a damn about life and did whatever. Then, there were some who didn’t mind getting their hands dirty, as long as it was for a good reason.

“So, when is this Aiden person supposed to start? And where is Noah?”

“Aiden has already started,” I informed her.

He was good at his job, so she didn’t even know he had been with her for a few days. We agreed he would keep his distance until I had a chance to talk to her.

“What do you mean? I haven’t seen him.”

I explained to her that I wanted to test things out before I introduced them. Aiden and I talked, and he would meet us at my house whenever we got back.

“As far as Noah, he’s around. The only thing that you need to be concerned with today is how much of my money you want to spend.”

We arrived at the mall, and I was prepared to blow a few bags on Harvest. Almost every store in the mall was high-end. Whatever she wanted, she could get.

Harvest looked out the window and rubbed her hands together.

“Oh, I’m about to spend it all.” She smiled.

I chuckled. “That’s cute, but you can’t spend it all.” I wasn’t the type to brag about what was in my bank accounts, but my money was long.
