“Makes sense.” My phone vibrates in my pocket, and I pull it out.
“You got a new phone?” Aubrey questions with curiosity as she looks it over in my hand.
“Yeah, my old one broke, so Gabe got me a new one.” When I look up, I find allof them staring at me. “What?”
“I don’t think I’ve ever heard you say his name so often in one day.” Cecilia stares at me with wide eyes.
“So?”
They all look at each other, then back at me. “He bought you a phone. Did he ask for something in exchange?” Emma asks.
“Umm, no.” I furrow my brows.
They give each other that look again. “Wow, could it be?” Morgan questions finally.
“Could what be?”I’m so confused.
“That Gabriel Ellis is finally ready to settle down.” Cecilia beams with joy.
My eyes widen as my mouth opens wide. “HA! No. Nope. That’s not the case. He was getting himself a new one, so he picked one up for me too. That’s all. There’s no hidden meaning behind it.”At least, I don’t think so.
“Sweetheart, I slept with the guy multiple times. He never even offered me breakfast once. Trust me, this means something to him.” Em pats my shoulder.
“You guys are being ridiculous. It’s nothing, he’s just being nice. And anyway, there’s Noah too.”Oh God, why did I just say that?
“What do you mean,‘there’s Noah too’?” Morgan asks quizzically.
“Wait, you like Noah?” Cecilia jumps in.
“No, that’s not what I said. I just meant that… you know, it’s always the two of them.” They all watch me, waiting for me to go on. But honestly, I’m not even sure what I’m trying to say myself. “Just, never mind. It’s not important. No one likes no one. No hidden meaning. No settling down.”
My phone vibrates again, reminding me of the notification. I open it up and find a message from‘Husband #1.’I narrow my eyes, confused at what I’m seeing. I don’t have anyone in my contact list with that name. I pull up the message thread.

I can’t help but laugh as I read the message.That sneaky little man. If he wrote number one beside his, then that would mean…I pull out of it and go to my contacts, looking for Noah.
