“I know what I want for my birthday gift now,” he voiced.

“Oh yeah? And what’s that?” I asked him, raising my eyebrow, eager to hear where he was going with this.

“Take your IUD out,” he looked me in my eyes when he said it.

If any other man would have said that to me, it would have sounded like verbal abuse. Assault, if you will. When Gemini said it… God, I felt like I was going to pass out. It was the equivalent of us having sex, and him whispering in my ear, telling me that he wanted a baby.

I felt myself getting hot after those words. So much so that I had to put the glass of wine down.

“You must have plans of marrying me soon. You know my thoughts on being just a baby mama. I don’t want that for me,” I told him.

“Shit, I don’t want that for you either. I don’t want it for myself. Look how many years I went without becoming a baby daddy. If I’m telling you to take the IUD out, then fuck yeah marriage coming soon,” he went on, pulling me into him by the front of the dress that I was wearing.

We were face to face with each other. He was looking me deep into my eyes. I was shaking. He had so much control over my body that it was crazy. We weren’t even doing anything sexual right now, yet it felt like he was fuckin me. It was the way his eyes were piercing into me, as he waited for a response.

“I don’t want to raise a baby on my own while you’re on the road,” I was honest with him.

“I told you that if we have kids what the plan was. I’ll have people working for me, so I can be home with you and our children. You feel like I’m forcing you right now?” he asked me.

“No. I want to give you babies. I just want to make sure that we’re on the same accord,” I told him.

With a smile on his face, he leaned in and kissed my lips, my neck, and my exposed cleavage.

“We been on the same accord. I’m on whatever you on,” he let me know. I stared deeply into his eyes, believing everything that he was saying to me.

“I’ll have it removed. If I get pregnant, and you do me dirty, Gemini I’ll fuckin kill you,” I said it low, where he was the only one that could hear me.

I was dead serious. I didn’t want to go through another heartbreak like that again. The fact that he smiled after I said that threat to him gave me peace of mind. I knew that he wouldn’t hurt me like Jacob, but I still needed to say it.

“Gemini and doing you dirty don’t even go together. Shit don’t even sound right. Drink your wine. Enjoy these last few moments of drinking. Shit going to come to a halt pretty soon. You gone have to do your due diligence, and humbly give methose nine months,” he let me know, and I laughed. I was sick in the head for this man, just eating up what he was telling me.

“I’ll gladly do my due diligence,” I told him, coming closer to him, and putting my face right in front of his.

I allowed my hand to slip into his shirt, rubbing up, and down his hard abs.

“I can’t wait to ride that dick when we get back on the truck. Gemini, I’m leaking,” I told him.

“When the lady come back over here, I hope you already know what you want to order. We need to make this shit fast. If you not trying to get fucked in the restroom of this restaurant, go back over to your side. This wine got me feeling good, baby. I’m feeling like a demon right now,” that was a threat. I understood the threat, and the seriousness of it, so I kissed him one last time, and went back over to my side.

Our appetizers came, and we put an order in for our entrees as well. While we ate, Gemini and I were able to change the subject, and talk about other things that wouldn’t have us so hot and bothered.

Jacob never responded back to my text message. I wouldn’t be surprised if he passed out somewhere. I preferred that he chose not to respond. The last thing that I needed was to be going back and forth with him, while I was out with my man, trying to celebrate him.

Whatever Jacob and I shared back in London was in the past, and it could stay there. I didn’t even have the desire to hear about what he was going to do with that engagement ring. For all I care, he could give it to his new girl. I’m sure she’ll love it.

Chapter 20

Gemini Black

Amina and I were in the Kansas City area. We made it here yesterday afternoon. It’s been a couple of days since my birthday, and I felt like we’ve still been on a high since then. Even though we were able to go out, and celebrate me, having it where Amina found a nice steakhouse for us to enjoy, I still felt bad as hell not letting her know earlier that my birthday was coming up. I didn’t expect to see her ass cry over it. Seeing the way she reacted, made me want to start cherishing birthdays a little more, and take the time out to be celebrated.

In the past, I was used to treating my birthday like it was just another day, so I would work, and do everything else that I would typically do on a regular day. My girl took me out, but I still footed the bill because I couldn’t see me sitting back and allowing her to swipe her card for me. We went back to the truck, and I think that was the best fuckin that we ever did. I damn near was shedding tears with her.

Amina was in the passenger seat right now, knocked out. No matter how many times I’ve told her that she could go in the back, and lay down, she wouldn’t go. She liked to be up here with me. She fell asleep with a book in her lap. Just a few moments ago, I took the book from her lap, folded the top corner, so thatshe wouldn’t lose track of where she left off. She had her legs pulled up in the seat, while her arms were folded. Casually, her head was resting against the headrest, and she was in a peaceful sleep.

We had about another hour on the truck until I reached my drop off location. I was delivering to my last customer for the day. After that, the plan was to head to the truck stop, pull the Blackston out, so that I could cook dinner for us.

I was driving, playing an old school playlist that I had on my phone. My left hand was on the steering wheel, while I snapped my fingers, bobbing my head and humming along to the music that was playing. In the middle of me doing that, a loud noise sounded off that put you in mind of a gunshot. I knew that’s not what it was though. Whatever it was, it came from the truck. The noise was so loud that it caused Amina to jump up from her sleep.
