Brooke frowned and then looked over the counter. “Did you just sign her discharge papers?”

“Yeah, why?”

Stifling a laugh, Brooke said, “Adam ran out of here with her half an hour ago.”

“For fuck’s sake,” Paul sighed, wiping his hands over his eyes. “They’re lucky that they survived this, but God, I might kill them.”

Brooke’s lips twisted in amusement. “Lucky I will be here to patch them up. You know, without having to worry that Dorian Blake will find out we’re related and try to murder me.”

Paul laughed. “Yes, that would’ve been very inconvenient.”

“So…we can finally spend some time together?”

“As much time as you want, little sis.” Paul pulled her into another big hug and let himself relax. He had missed her so much over the last five years.

In fact, the last five years had been nothing short of torture. Hiding Brooke to keep her safe, hiding Mercedes to keep her safe, Adam hiding to keep himself safe, and all of them pretending to no longer be friends to keep each other safe. Pure torture.

Paul still couldn’t quite believe that they had actually killed Dorian Blake. But they had, and that they’d gotten through it together, in one piece, and were finallysafe...for that, he’d be forever grateful for.

“What the fuck is this?” Carlos stood on the dance floor of the Neptune Club, arms folded. In the middle of the day, the club was near empty.

“It’s all gone already,” one of his dealers replied.

Carlos frowned. His head dealer had come to him with an empty satchel and a roll of cash. The full load of drugs already sold and spreading.

“It’s all gone already?” Carlos raised his brows.

The dealer smiled and then nodded. It’d sold much faster than it ever had in the past, but without Blake, Carlos supposed their market share had increased significantly.

“Fucking hell, alright,” Carlos said. “Well, go on, you can take another box for the evening.”

Leaving the dealer, Carlos headed to the bar and began scribbling notes on his worksheet. He was lost deep in thought when his new manager came trotting past.

“Oh, Gabriel?” Carlos said. He turned, raising his brows. “Can you ask the chef to put more supply cooking tonight?”

“Sure, did you exhaust supplies already?”

Carlos nodded, returning to frown at his paperwork. “Yeah, sold out already. Might have to amp it up a bit.”

Gabe shook his head. “Damn, okay. I’ll tell the chef to crank up the burners.”

Carlos returned to his paperwork.

The dealer reappeared from the storeroom with a new bag full of product, resting the duffle and her hands on the bar top. “I took three boxes. Two others just rang and said they’re out, too.”

Carlos gave her an incredulous look, unsure whether to be happy or concerned supplies were burning so quickly. “Fuck, alright,” Carlos breathed, waving the dealer away.

“Gabe?!” Carlos called from the bar.

“I heard,” Gabe called back from the kitchen. “We’ll put all the burners going.”

A second later, Carlos jumped in surprise as Lulu came from seemingly out of nowhere. Noticing that she’d scared him, she laughed.

“Hello, new boss,” Lulu giggled.

“New boss? You’re not working through Dan?”
