Fuck, that means I’m going somewhere.
“What?” I grumble.
“I know that you just got back, but there was a mix-up with the new equipment being installed, and they can’t figure out how to fix it.”
“Why don’t they call the installers?”
“It’s not the install, it’s the setup.” I huff, and he continues. “It sounds like they’ve had multiple people try to fix it, and now it’s gotten worse.”
“Why wasn’t I told? I could have walked them through the install before things got out of control.”
“They thought they could do it by themselves.”
“They should have been able to. I made the system as easy as possible. I even trained the IT people on how to do it.”
“I don’t know what to tell you, but it’s a mess.”
“Ugh.” I roll over and pout. “Where am I going?” There’s a long pause. Fuck, that means I’m not going to like his answer. “Minjun?”
“Australia.”
“Fuck me. It’s a little over a week till Christmas.”
“I know. But this is an emergency. The whole place is down right now.”
“Seriously?” Fucking idiots.
“I’ll give you whatever you want.” Minjun gasps as he realizes his mistake. “Within reason and work-related.”
“Fine.”
“This is going to cost me, isn’t it?”
“Not you, but the business, yes.”
“Australia?” Whit whines. “For how long?”
“I’ll be back as soon as I can. I promise.”
“I don’t want you to go.” Now he crosses his arms and pouts.
“I’ll be back soon.” He doesn’t uncross his arms, so I sit down on the couch and pat my leg. “Come here, babe.”
He huffs but comes over and sits across my lap.
“I understand you don’t want me to go. Especially since we’re just starting the Daddy/Little dynamic.” He nuzzles closer to me, trying to put his head under my chin. I laugh lightly and rub his belly in soothing circles. “But I need to do this because it’s important, but then I’ll tell my boss I’m not going on the road unless it’s dead serious.” He huffs and squeezes me tight.
“Really?” He sounds hopeful. “You do travel a lot.”
“I’ll talk to my boss about having off next week.”
“Aren’t you off for the holidays?”
“No, I never really take time off, but I will be going to my dad’s cabin, and then we can spend more time together.”
“After Christmas?”
“Yep. Right after we get back from visiting our families.”
