“Someone needs to go help.”
“Send Collins.”
“He doesn’t know the systems.”
“All of my team are trained to work all major systems.”
“Yes, but?—”
“Then it’ll have to wait until I get back.”
“That’s four more days,” he whines.
“Just remind your bosses how I earned this break.”
“Leo. I’ve already got your ticket booked.” He sounds exasperated, but he still expects me to give in.
“No. I’m serious this time.”
There’s a charged pause where I can practically hear Minjun thinking. “Fine. I’ll send Collins, but I want you to hire at least two more people. Especially if you plan on taking more time off.”
“I do.”
He grumbles something in Korean, even though he knows I can understand him. “Fine. What brought about this change?”
“I’m in a relationship,” I say proudly.
“Really?” Minjun gasps. “I’ve heard you aren’t the settling-down type.”
“I guess it just took the right guy.”
“I’m happy for you,” he says, although it sounds like he’s sucking a lemon.
“I’m not leaving,” I tease. “I just want to take some time off and not be on call twenty-four seven.”
“We’ll talk about it when you get back.” He sounds resigned now.
“Okay,” I chirp. “Bye.” And then hang up.
I did it. I told my boss no. Not that I couldn’t have before, but I never had a good reason to. Now all I want to do is spend my time with the sexy boy in my arms.
Whit grumbles and nuzzles into my chest. My fingers card through his fiery-red hair. “Go back to sleep, babe,” I whisper.
He huffs but falls back asleep quickly. I, sadly, do not fall back asleep. Instead, I stare at the vast whiteness of my ceiling and think that maybe I should paint it black or pink.
Maybe I should ask Whit.
What color ceiling would he like to stare at when he can’t sleep at night, because he’s going to be staying here a lot.

WHIT
“Are you sure you know how to handle one of these?” Daddy grips my waist tight as I stand to balance the bike.
“I ride them all the time. Now snuggle as tight to me as you need and don’t fight the motion of the bike. If I lean, you lean with me.”
“Okay, but be careful. I don’t want to have a closed casket because my face was smeared all over the pavement.”
