I felt so euphoric and so vulnerable at the same time that I was glad that it was so dark in the room.

I reached up and swiped the tears from my cheeks.

I didn’t want Asher to feel them and think something was wrong.

Nothing was wrong.

Everything felt so right that it was scary.

Asher rolled our bodies while we were still intimately connected, taking my weight on top of him so I didn’t get crushed beneath him.

I didn’t know how long we laid there recovering, but it was Asher who finally spoke.

“How is it possible that a beautiful woman like you has never had a man go down on her?” he questioned.

“It just never happened,” I said. “I’ve never been with a guy who wanted to do it. My sex life has probably always been boring.”

I could have said more.

It wasn’t like I didn’t trust Asher.

But I just wasn’t ready to discuss too much about my previous life.

I had a feeling that he sensed my reluctance because he said, “It’s their loss. There’s nothing more satisfying than having a woman coming under your mouth, in my opinion.”

I slapped him playfully. “Is there nothing you won’t say?”

Honestly, I found his dirty mouth incredibly sexy, but it was something that was going to take a while to get used to.

“Nothing,” he agreed. “I’m not going to pretend that I don’t want you anymore, Sierra. I also don’t plan on keeping it to myself. I plan on sharing it with you as often as possible. This changes things for us, Sierra. I hope you realize that. I want you in my bed every damn night. There’s still a lot of things we don’t know about each other, but we’ll talk in the future. We’ll share when it feels right. I’m not going to push for anything you don’t want, but we have this. We have this crazy chemistry between the two of us. I can’t go back to pretending you’re just an employee to me, because it would be total bullshit.”

I smiled into the darkness.

Asher’s tone was demanding, but he was stroking my hair gently.

This man might be fierce, but that scary façade hid a gentleness that had never been beaten out of him as a child.

“I can live with that,” I murmured. “I don’t think I can pretend anymore, either. Does that mean you’ll keep talking dirty to me?”

“As often as you’ll let me,” he said teasingly.

I sighed and threaded my hand into his hair. “I have no idea what’s going to happen, but for once in my life I’m not going to think about the future. I just want to be with you, Asher.”

He tightened his arm around my waist. “I’ll think about the future for both of us. Which reminds me that I have to be inAustin in a week. It’s just one meeting, but it’s something I should do in person. I want you to come with me. We can visit your mother if you want. It’s probably been a while since you’ve seen her.”

My heart skipped a beat. “I’d love that, but she’s near Houston.”

“I have a private jet,” he answered drily. “And it’s not that long of a drive if we want to drive.”

“I’m not quite sure how to explain…you,” I said in a rush. “Asher, there’s things my mother doesn’t know. She has no idea I’m working as a housekeeper. And she doesn’t know that things are really tight for me. She wouldn’t let me help her if she knew. She thinks I’m supporting myself on my illustrations.”

I startled as he slapped me playfully on the ass. “Why am Inotsurprised. Just tell me what you want her to know, and I’ll play along. I was hoping I could check out her house and see what needs to be repaired other than her roof.”

“A lot,” I said unhappily.

“We’ll get it all fixed,” he said casually. “Money isn’t a problem, remember?”

“Money has always been a problem for me,” I told him. “And how do I explainyouto my mother?”
