“Ew, Romeo, please, please stop—” But she’s laughing as she says it.

“Juliette.” I look up at her, suddenly serious. “I wasn’t joking in Toronto. I’m going to marry you someday.”

She goes completely still. “I know.”

“I’m going to marry you. Put a ring on your finger. Make you Mrs. Rodriguez.” I push my fingers deeper and she gasps. “We haven’t talked about kids yet, but I want those too. Want to see you pregnant with my baby.”

Her eyes are locked on mine, wide and stunned.

“This?” I pull my fingers out and hold them up between us. “This is just practice. Getting you used to the idea of being full of me.”

She stares at my fingers. Her mouth falls open slightly in shock.

“If you keep your mouth open like that,” I say quietly, “I’m going to make you lick this up.”

Her eyes snap to mine. Then, fuck me, she sticks out her tongue.

I’m done. Completely undone. This woman is going to be the death of me.

I press my fingers to her tongue and she closes her lips around them, sucks them clean while maintaining eye contact.

“Jesus Christ, Juliette.”

She pulls back with a satisfied smile. “Getting me used to being full of you, right?”

I groan and turn to start filling the bathtub. “You’re dangerous.”

I lift her into the tub and climb in behind her, pulling her back against my chest while the warm water soothes us both.

“Five goals,” she says after a while.

“Five orgasms.”

“And one incredibly traumatic coach encounter.”

“He brought honey packets.”

“I’m never going to be able to look at honey packets the same way. Your coach is definitely a freak.” She tilts her head back to look at me. “What do you think he’s into?”

“I don’t want to know.”

“I bet it’s rope stuff. He seems like a rope guy.”

“Juliette, please.”

“He’s so precise. Definitely ropes.”

“I’m getting out of the tub.”

“No you’re not.” She grabs my arms to keep me in place. “We’re processing this trauma together.”

We stay in the tub until the water starts to cool, occasionally breaking into giggles when one of us remembers a specific part ofBarrett’s visit.

“Performance optimization strategies,” she quotes, and we both lose it again.

I help her out and wrap her in the fluffy hotel robe.

“You hungry?” I ask.
