She pulls her head back enough to look me in the eye. “Yeah?”
“Abso-fucking-lutely.”
She swallows hard, her chest rising and falling against mine. “Let’s go before we get stuck in another impromptu karaoke session.”
I don’t ask any questions because I don’t want either of us to change our minds. I don’t say goodbye to Liam and Alie, and I completely ignore Archie yelling my name from across the bar. I just grab her hand and weave us through the shadows of the lawn.
“Wait, where are we going?” She tugs on my hand to stop me.
“We each have a place here on the property for the night.”
She bites her lip and looks around. “Okay.”
“If you’ve changed your mind?—”
“No! I was just figuring out how to make an escape in the morning.” She shrugs, smiling.
“I’ll get you out of here without anyone noticing.” I lean in and kiss her cheek.
As we walk, I realize I left my favorite hat behind, but one of my brothers will surely notice and grab it for me since Archie and I sat at the same table. I’m not going back now and risk her having second thoughts.
The rest of the way to my guesthouse, we don’t talk. But we don’t need to. The witty remarks are gone, replaced by a hunger that’s been brewing since college.
By the time we reach the house, the tension is thick enough to choke on.
She looks up at me when I unlock the door, and every bad decision I’ve ever made suddenly feels like a practice run.
The kiss is inevitable, and the second the door clicks shut, the dam breaks.
I don’t even turn on all the lights. I throw the key on the entryway table and catch her mouth with mine. She lets out a soft, needy gasp against my lips, her arms flying around my neck, pulling me down to her.
The kiss isn’t gentle. It’s aggressive, possessive, a collision of missed chances and suppressed desire.
I back her up against the wall, and my hands grip her thighs through the slit of her green dress, lifting her. She hooks her legs around my waist without hesitation, her hands weaving through my hair as she devours my mouth.
“Aston,” she breathes against my lips, voice ragged. “Fuck, Aston.”
Hearing my name—mine—from her mouth drives me completely over the edge. I carry her into the bedroom, where we tumble onto the mattress in a tangle of limbs.
She pulls at the bottom of my shirt, practically ripping it off me, and her hands find my stomach. I take over and quickly unbutton the shirt and toss it to the floor.
“Zipper?”
Eva sits up enough for me to reach around her and unzip her dress. Then I pull the green silk down her skin like water, leaving her in nothing but a lacy black thong. I choke on a breath, staring down at her in the dim moonlight filtering through the room.
She’s absolutely beautiful. Pure perfection.
“Stop looking and touch me,” she demands.
I stand and kick off my boots, grab a condom from my wallet, and toss it on the bed. Then I shed my pants and boxers and push them away with my foot. I lay my body on top of hers, and when my bare skin meets hers, a jolt goes straight to my dick. I kiss my way down her jaw, her throat, and trace the line of hercollarbone with my tongue before I take one of her nipples into my mouth.
Eva’s fingers dig into my shoulders, and then her nails scratch down my back.
“Please, Aston. Fuck me. I’ve waited too long for this.”
I reach between us and slide my hand inside her thong and find her hot and wet.
“Goddamn, Eva.”
