“I have bloodlust for Elwood Tosh,” she whispered.

“Take me with you,” he said.

She peered over at him. “I’ll think about it.”

When Greg hadn’t shown by one-thirty in the morning, they called it.

On the ride home, she said, “I’m coming back tomorrow night, and the next, and the next, until Greg walks though that front door.”

“I’m surprised he hasn’t asked you into the playroom,” Carrera said. “Especially if he was checking you out.”

“Why?”

“You’re the most beautiful woman in the club.”

She cracked a smile. “You arebiased.”

“Hell, yeah.”

“Maybe he’s got a type, and I’m not it.”

“What do the seven women have in common?”

She grew quiet. “They all have dark hair.”

“What else?”

“Hmm.” She paused for a few seconds. “They’re average height, average build. No kids, no boyfriend. Some have roommates, some live alone.”

“You don’t fit that. You’re blonde, muscular, stronger than most, and you have a boyfriend.”

She flashed a smile. “I’ve beenpurchasedfor free use.”

He drove into the garage, killed the engine. In the dark car, he glanced over. “I’ve got something I want to show you.”

She chuckled. “I’m sure you do.”

“Take a sunrise ride with me tomorrow,” he said. “On our bikes.”

She leaned toward him. They shared a kiss. “I would love that.”

He waited for the garage door to close before they retreated inside.

G-ma slept on the sofa, beneath a throw blanket. Luciano stood in the dark screened porch, staring into the night. He turned, strolled inside.

“Any luck?” Luciano asked.

“No,” Carrera replied.

“That would be too easy,” Luciano said.

“What trouble did you two get into?” Slash asked.

“We had a little wine. I entertained Elsa with my stories.”

“Now, she knows they’re true,” Carrera said.

“She always knew,” Luciano said. “She just never said anything.”
