As she stood, tears spilled down Honor’s cheeks. “He needs an ambulance. Someone call him an ambulance!”

Brit pulled her away from Whitaker. “Sit. Now.”

Sobbing, Honor did as she was told.

Rebel stood over Whitaker, his blood pooling beneath him. “You know who I am, don’t you?” Rebel ground out.

“You’re that agent’s kid, the one I took out,” Whitaker said. “You look just like him.”

“I’ve been waiting for this moment for twelve long years,” Rebel spat out. “Now, I get to watch you takeyourlast breath.”

“I ran you off the bridge and into the river.” Whitaker groaned. “How the hell did you survive that?” He covered his bloody abdomen with his hand. “My guys were two days from selling everything, but they ghosted. That was you, wasn’t it?” His breathing became labored.

The Hurly brothers.

“Any last words before you head to hell?” Rebel rasped out.

“Killing your old man was a big win for me. He ruined my business, I took his life. Seemed like a fair trade.”

Whitaker started gasping for air, his chest rising and falling at a rapid rate. Then, he stilled, his eyes went flat.

For you, Dad.

“NOOOOO!” Honor charged at Rebel. After barreling into him, she pounded his chest with her fists. Rebel shoved her back.

Hatred turned her eyes black. “I will fucking kill you for taking him from me!”

Hawk ran into the lobby, his gun drawn. Everyone turned. Honor grabbed the Glock from Addison, pointed it at Brit?—

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

Rebel and Hawk opened fire.

Honor dropped to the ground, killed on contact.

Silence.

“Ohgod,” Brit whispered.

Rebel strode over, pulled Brit into his arms. The second he touched her, the tightness in his neck released.

“Are you hurt?” he asked.

Britain

Brit wrappedher arms around him, breathed deep. The adrenaline pumping through her still raced at a frenzying pace.

It’s over. Breathe.

“We’re okay,” Brit replied.

Hawk rushed over to Addison. “Are you injured?”

She threw her arms around him. “No.”

Brit walked over to Honor and stared down at her lifeless body. “That poor, broken girl.”

“Is a serial killer,” Rebel said.
