As the group paired off—Sin and Dakota, Hawk and Addison, Prescott and Slash—Brit turned to leave.
“Brit,” Rebel called. “You’re with me.”
She was elated to be included, but she wasn’t getting ahead of herself. When their run ended, Rebel closed out their training for the day.
As everyone headed inside, Rebel told her to hang back. “That was impressive.”
Pride filled her heart. “What are you training them for?”
“A rescue team.”
Her gaze floated over his face. “Thanks for including me. I loved it.”
They walked inside, retreated into the locker rooms.
After showering and dressing, Addison pulled her aside. “Did you see my text?”
“From when?” Brit asked.
“Last night.”
“No, sorry.”
“I’m meeting Honor for lunch today.”
“Who?”
“Our sister.”
“Wow, okay,” Brit said.
“We’re meeting in Tysons, not far from ALPHA. I made it for lunch to keep it short. Come with me.”
Brit shook her head. “I need to work.”
They exited the locker room to find Rebel and Hawk talking nearby.
“I hear you’re meeting a half-sister,” Rebel said to her.
“I’m not going,” Brit pushed back. “I’ve got too much work.”
“It’s just lunch,” Rebel said. “Bring me back something.”
“Perfect,” Addison said. “You can follow me there.”
Since she and Rebel had driven in together, Rebel handed her his SUV key fob. Something magnetic passed between them that sent delight scurrying through her.
When her gaze found his, he winked.
Too sexy.
Fifteen minutes later, Brit and Addison sailed into the busy eatery nestled in the heart of the Tysons.
As the hostess escorted them to the table, Honor was raking her fingers through her hair. She pushed out of the chair, pasted on an awkward smile.
It’s the girl from the airport.
She’d seen Honor, along with Liliana and her husband, back in November over Thanksgiving weekend.
