“In bed, right next to you,” she said, then she furrowed her brow. “How are you doing?”

“I wanted to choke him dead and leave him to rot.”

“I know you did.”

He pulled her into his arms. “You found my mom’s killer.”

“Wefound her. And we found my brother’s killers, too.”

“This is it. It’s you and me, baby. No other option.”

Rising up, she kissed him. “No other option.”

Stryker waited until Emerson pulled onto the street before he slipped into his Mercedes and headed into the night.

First stop, the club.

A woman stopped him in The Dungeon parking lot. “Aren’t you Stryker?”

“Whatcha need?”

“You, for starters.”

“I’m off the market.” Before going inside, he made a call.

“Yo, Stryker, my man, how you been?”

“Are you still interested in buying The Dungeon?” Stryker asked.

“Hell, yeah.”

“It’s yours.”

“You kiddin’ me?”

“I’ll call my broker and he’ll take care of everything.”

“The Dungeon is gonna be mine. Time to celebrate.” The call ended.

Time to move on.

Stryker found Mavis in her office. “The Wedding Gown Killer is dead.”

Mavis smiled. “Whew, what a relief.”

He showed Mavis a picture of the hostess who let Lyle into the club. “Who’s this?”

“That’s Becky. She’s working tonight.”

“The killer bribed her to get in. He was using the club to stalk women.”

“Oh, no, that’s awful.”

“Becky needs to go. Can you get her up here?”

“Give me thirty. I gotta find someone to cover for her.”

“Be back in an hour.” On his way downstairs, Stryker made another call.
