“No vehicle. I checked behind the garage. I think there are bodies buried out back.
This was worse than he’d anticipated.
“There’s a woman bound and gagged in the back-bedroom closet,” Dakota said.
“Oh, Christ,” Sin murmured. “Where the hell is Hill?”
They didn’t know.
While waiting, they checked the home for surveillance. If there were any cameras, they were well concealed.
Over thirty minutes later, a car pulled into the driveway and stopped in front of the side door by the mudroom. The lights went out, the engine went quiet. A car door opened.
“Here we go,” Dakota said.
“I can’t fucking wait,” Stryker added.
Then, a second car door opened.
“He’s not alone,” Sin said.
“Move into position,” Dakota said.
Sin stepped into the corner of the room. Stryker moved into the kitchen. Dakotastood steadfast in the center of the room, his Glock by his side.
The storm door opened. Footsteps into the mudroom. Dakota’s heart didn’t beat faster, his blood pressure didn’t change. He remained still, filled with the kind of hatred reserved for true evil. The door to the house opened.
“Get the hell inside,” said a man’s voice.
That was Hill.
A woman sobbed softly.
Oh, fuck, he’s brought another victim home.
She entered. She was trembling so hard, Dakota couldn’t control his rage. Stryker moved in fast, took the girl, and ushered her down the hallway toward the back bedroom.
“What the fuck?” Hill croaked out. “Who the hell are—”
Through the comm, Dakota heard Stryker whisper to the girl. “I’ve got you. You’re safe.”
Dakota stormed Hill, grabbed him by the throat, and shoved him against the wall. “You’re done, Hill. So fucking done.”
Hill raised his arm and Dakota spotted the tip of a shiny blade. He kneed Hill and, as he doubled over, grabbed the weapon and flung it on the carpet. Then, he lifted Hill into the air by his neck, strode into the living room, and threw him on the sofa.
Sin appeared, then Stryker returned from the back bedroom. All three men towered over him.
“How many?” Dakota bit out. “How many women did you hurt?”
A low rumbling laugh rolled out of Hill. “Not enough.”
“I don’t want to kill you, I want to torture you to death,” Stryker growled.
“Why?” Sin asked. “Why do you prey on the innocent?”
“The only time I feel alive is when I’m sucking the life out of them. I feed off their fear, and their pain, and their energy.” Hill rose. “I’m not afraid of you.”
“You should be,” Dakota rasped.
