Katarina rattled off the number and he added it to his contact list.

“Is he always demanding?” Katarina asked.

A sly smile graced Evangeline’s face. “Every moment of every day.”

The woman flicked her gaze back to Sin. “Lucky girl.” Katarina’s phone buzzed with an incoming text. She held out the phone for him to see. “Miss your yummy pussy. Cum visit me.”

“How do I know that’s her?” Sin asked.

“Because I say it is.” Katarina texted her again, this time in Russian. When her phone buzzed, she showed him the text. “? ??????? ? ????? X ? ??????????.”

“Translate it,” Sin said.

“I ask where she lives. She stays at Hotel X in D.C.”

“Until when?”

Katarina texted, then read him Rave’s reply. “Next week.”

Sin handed Katarina the cash he promised her. Then, he gave her an additional hundred. “That’s so you keep your mouth shut.”

Glaring at him, Katarina shoved her finger in his face. “Orwhat? You threaten me?”

Sin leaned close and whispered in her ear. “Forget about me. If you don’t, you’ve just met your worst fucking nightmare.”

The lights in the club brightened.

Katarina held up her hands. “We never saw each other,” she said and bolted from the room.

Sucking down a calming breath, Sin raked his fingers through his hair, then shifted his attention to the reason he was there in the first place.

The intensity in Evan’s eyes seared him. She palmed his crotch. “I love your tough guy act.”

“That was no act,” Sin bit out. “She keeps her mouth shut and we’re good. She doesn’t and I’ll make her life a living hell.”

All Night Long

Evangeline was on fire, her body fueled by desire. Seeing how Sin handled Katarina rocked her to her core. Fearless. With raw, explosive anger simmering just below the surface. She’dnevermet a man like him…never found anyone who did it for her in that way. He was the epitome of power and control.

It was after two when they left the club. In silence, he drove out of the parking lot and yanked off his mask. As she removed hers, she wanted to thank him for going the distance, but she stayed quiet, giving him space to cool down.

“When I saw the video, I knew Birdie was guilty of something,” he said, breaking the silence. “I think I’ve figured it out.”

“That was fast.”

“Birdie heads the counterintelligence team, but they mask it under his bullshit communications title.”

“Deputy Director of Domestic Communications.”

He glanced over at her. “Smoke and mirrors.”

“How do you know all this?”

“I make it my business to know therealpower players from the ones in title only. His department tracks and arrests spies on U.S. soil. When the dungeon monitor mentioned Rave’s accent, I couldn’t get past that.” At the traffic light, he regarded her. “I think she might be a Russian spy.”

“Hmm. Okay. I wouldn’t have gone in that direction, but go on.”
