Several patrons screamed. Sin kicked him in the groin and he collapsed, dropping his blade. Big D lifted him off the ground with one hand and held him flush against the wall.

“Keep him there until the cops arrive,” Sin bit out. After securing the knife behind the bar, he addressed the shaken members. “We’ve got this under control. The next round’s on me.”

Ten minutes later, the police arrived and arrested the guy. Thirty long minutes later, everything had returned to normal. Sin thanked his staff for handling the situation so well, then headed toward the back of the club and through the fire door that led to the playrooms. He had been grinding his teeth together to dispel the anger and he wanted to put his fist through a fucking wall. Though he had wanted to beat the hell out of that asshole, he’d managed to keep himself in check…this time.

At Uninhibited, members could play with other consenting members or their guests. Everything from tame to wildly erotic was permitted. Couples could set up scenes for others to enjoy or they could schedule private rooms and act them out in seclusion.

Though the private rooms didn’t have cameras, each had a panic button and mics set into the ceiling so staff could communicate with members, as needed.

Sin stopped by each of the public rooms where everyone played to the addictive rhythm of seduction, unaware of the fiasco that had happened in the bar. A few months back, he’d added a room with a country theme titled, “The Farmer’s Daughter.” Looked like the threesome playing on the bales of hay were having themselves a good ol’ time. Room after room was populated with players finding their ultimate hedonistic pleasure.

Taking the back stairs to the third floor, Sin entered his office, poured himself two fingers of his favorite whiskey, and eased back in his executive chair. He came in once a week, twice at the most, to take care of payroll and close out any outstanding issues not handled by his GM. Fifteen minutes later, he was finishing up when his phone buzzed with an incoming text from an out of state number.

“You stole something of value from me,” the text read. “Now, you’re a dead man.”

“Fuck you,” he grumbled under his breath. But as he reread the text, a chill slithered down his spine.

After hugging Brigit and acknowledging her beautiful hand-beaded wedding gown, Evangeline admired the newlyweds. “You both look elated. Congratulations.”

Smiling, Colton pulled his bride close. “We are. Brigit was happy to hear you’d moved back. Things are a little crazy for us now—we’re in the process of moving out of the mansion and into something more manageable. And we’re getting settled into our new Tyson’s office, as well.”

“No honeymoon?”

“Not now,” Brigit replied. “Between the wedding, work, and both moves, we’ve been running on empty. I’ll text you after the holidays. I’d love to see you. Plus, it’s time for us to review your investments.”

Colton chuckled. “My wife, the workaholic.”

Brigit grinned up at him and he dropped a soft kiss on her lips.

They’ve got it all.

Maverick and Carly joined the conversation. “We’re getting ready to head out,” Maverick said.

“Evangeline, please come with us,” Carly added.

Maverick pulled out his phone. “Damn, Sin can’t make it. I’m surprised, based on all the questions he was asking about Evangeline—”

“Mav,” Colton interrupted.

“Ah, right.” Maverick winked at Evangeline. “My bad. Guess I shouldn’t have said anything.”

With a smile, Carly threw her hands up. “Okay, husband, let’s find our posse.” Carly hugged Colton. “We love you guys. This was an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime event. Thanks for including us.” As she embraced Brigit, the men hugged it out.

“Congrats, my golden man,” Maverick said to Colton. “I love you, brother.”

“Thanks for making today so special for us,” Colton replied.

“I’m gonna take off,” Evangeline said. “Thanks for the heads-up about Sin, Maverick.”

Evangeline said goodbye to Tucker before grabbing her coat and jumping into a waiting taxi. Not wanting to go home to the silence of her sparse apartment with the drab rental furniture, she sent her friend Jessica a text. “Any chance you can get me on the list? I’d love to swing by and catch up with you.”

Dots appeared. “Yay,” her friend texted back. “Done.”

Evangeline instructed the driver to drop her off at the bottom of Water Street, in Georgetown. It was after one in the morning when Evangeline stood in the short line for Uninhibited.

It had been two years since she first stepped into the world of kink, but tonight she had no interest in playing. She just wanted to spend a few minutes with an old friend.
