And now she wants me to fuck her, hard? I think I can manage.

I lift her so she slides off me, her wet heat driving me wild. How any man could treat her the way Zach did is beyond me, even if that was his thing. She is a dream, more than enough woman for anyone.

I bend her forward so she’s on her hands and knees, still blindfolded, moonlight catching the silver-gold gleam of her hair. I run my hands across her back, over her smooth ass, down her thighs, parting her legs even more. Then I take a chance and bend down, burying my face in her musky wetness, licking her, sliding my tongue into her opening, sucking her clit.

“Axel, fuck… ah, oh god.” She grinds against me, no hesitation this time. I slide a finger inside her, then another, still licking her as I pump them in and out.

She cries out and I feel her tighten around me, shuddering as the orgasm takes her. I straighten up and, with one smooth thrust, enter her while she’s still coming.

She screams, her head going back, pushing back onto me as I thrust in and out of her, carrying her up to the peak again, her walls shivering around my cock as she goes over the edge once more. I’m not going to last much longer but I keep going, pounding into her. She meets me all the way.

“That hard enough for you?” I keep going as she moans her assent, feeling my own orgasm build. I hold back, though, as much as I can. She is in command here, still.

As if knowing what I want, she turns her head. “Come for me, Axel,” she gasps. “I want to feel you.”

With a groan that shakes my entire being, I do as she asks, unleashing inside her. She cries out, pushing against me so I’m as deep as I can be, holding me in her heat. Sated, exhausted, I slide my arm around her waist and bend over her, breathing hard. Her head hangs, the blindfold slightly askew. She’s panting, her body lightly slicked with sweat.

“You okay?”

“Fuck, yes,” she groans. “That was amazing.”

I grin, pulling out of her, then fall onto my side, bringing her with me.

She twists in my embrace to face me, her legs tangling with mine. She lifts the blindfold off one eye, her mouth curving. “Is this some of the island healing everyone goes on about?”

“Yes,” I say. “Everyone who stays here gets a blindfolded sex session. It’s all part of the service.”

“I think it’s my favourite thing so far.” She giggles. Then she frowns. “Everyone?”

“No one. Except you. Why, do you think I should add it to the list of guest amenities?”

“No. I think it should only be for surfers named Jade.” Her voice slurs, her body relaxing against mine.

“That does narrow it down a bit, I guess.” I untie the blindfold, sliding the silk from her. The tie was a gift from my father, I suppose to make a point. I don’t think he imagined I’d use it like this.

“Hmm.” She mumbles something, but I don’t catch what she says. Her eyes are closing, lashes fanned across her cheeks. I tighten my arms around her, kissing her brow.

I feel better than I have in a very long time. She’s not wrong about the healing part, though I agree that, as far as I’m concerned, this specific activity should only be reserved for surfers named Jade. This particular Jade.

She’s the only one I want. Yet, amid the rush of feeling, I can also sense myself pulling back. Jade came here to heal. So did I. But am I healed enough to deal with what this could become? Or is there more that I need to do?

ChapterTwenty-Five

Jade

Axel wakes me with a kiss. Like he isn’t already dreamy enough. “I’m going to shower,” he whispers, kissing down my neck, “and make us coffee.”

Half-asleep, I reach out across the smooth linen sheets, but he’s already gone. I roll over, opening my eyes properly.

Axel’s bedroom is large, the ceiling vaulted timber, the walls covered in panels of pale fabric, contrasting against the dark wood furniture. A chest of drawers and two bedside tables. Simple, yet luxurious.

I slide out of bed, padding through a doorway, hoping it’s the bathroom. No way I’m letting Axel shower by himself, not after last night. But I find myself in the large walk-in wardrobe, the racks half-empty. There’s a card on the dressing table, a photo of the New York skyline. I pick it up, then put it down again. I want to know more about Axel, but I don’t want to force my way into his life. I sense he’s spent a long time hiding away and putting up walls. The last thing he needs is for me to overstep the boundaries.

I wander back out again, taking another door. This time it leads me into a bathroom, tiled in smooth pale stone with black fittings, quiet luxury again. There’s one of those large free-standing oval tubs, a counter with two sinks and a toilet. But no shower. I relieve myself, then head back into the bedroom. Then I remember my own cabin.

I grab a towel from the bathroom, wrapping it around me, then push the sliding door open and step outside. I can hear water running, a deep male voice humming. It sounds like Rihanna’s “Diamonds.” I hold back a giggle, padding quietly along the wooden veranda until I come to a pierced timber screen.

I drop my towel and step around it.
