“What did your moms say when you told them?” she asked just as we stepped inside the store.

“Haven’t told them yet.”

Linda stopped walking. “Why thehellnot?”

“Because they’re on their yearly romantic getaway and this year, they’re in huts with questionable WIFI. So, I figured I would waitto tell them about Mike and I being bonded and how I was now working for the mediums and all that.”

“I need to find myself a partner. I want yearly getaways too.” Linda was the one pouting this time, but I knew she was happily single. She’d once said that dating as a medium was hard. Sometimes they had ghosts attached to them and she would learn all their horrible secrets. Other times she couldn’t deal with lying about her job. Most mediums preferred to feel secure in their relationship before telling their partner they could see and speak to ghosts and I understood why.

I just smiled at her and let her lead the way. I had a man to get back to.

Chapter Twelve

Mike

It was embarrassing how long I’d stood staring at the apartment door. Dylan had left and I felt like a dog without its master, staring at the door, just waiting for him to return and offer me affection.

“Those pants, huh?” Erik smirked, leaning against the wall near the hallway. “I gotta say, they would’ve worked on me, too.”

“Don’t stare at Dylan’s ass!” I snapped, blushing furiously.

Erik just laughed.

I still couldn’t believe that the sexiest pants ever had been for my pleasure only. It seemed that Dylan had planned on seducing me and somehow informed Erik about it, too, if Dylan’s excitement to Erik was to be trusted. Had they conspired behind my back? Not that I minded. Those pants though…

“I think I’ll take a shower while they’re out,” I announced, all but fleeing into my room.

I could hear Erik laugh as he made his way into Dylan’s room. Finally, I had some peace to get my mind together, but first I needed some goddamn relief.

Clean sweatpants, sweater, and boxers were all I needed before I entered the bathroom.

I’d never been this hard in my life. Yes, it had gone down when my mom showed up, but seeing Dylan’s ass in those pants as he left the apartment had been nothing but pure seduction. I was hard and aching, a real problem when I normally worried about Erik being there. But he wouldn’t come in here and that was all the security I needed to finally find some relief.

I hurried to turn on the shower so it could heat up while I stripped. My poor dick had felt neglected for far too long, ever since I found Erik, really. It was no wonder I’d hit this pent-up stage where I feared I would come in my pants from just the sight of Dylan. That kiss we’d shared had been so damn hot that I was actually thinking of just coming right then and there.

The warm water soothed me as I stepped under the spray, my body still feeling all achy and sore from being drained, but I ignored that. Grabbing my dick, I slowly pumped to find some relief before grabbing the conditioner. I hadn’t used that as lubricant since I was still living at home, but there was no way I could hide lube in here, not when I shared the bathroom with Dylan. I also couldn’t tell Erik to stay away from my room because I needed to masturbate, that would just be humiliating.

Conditioner would have to do.

Closing my eyes, I leaned back against the cold tiles, imagining Dylan in front of me. It was his hand on my dick. His eyes roaming over my body as he gave me that sexy smirk he tended to do whenever he said anything flirtatious. He was in his leather pants, of course, the water cascading down the black leather, his torso wet and inviting.

My hand sped up, the visual too good to drag it out. Dylan leaned in and whispered,“Come for me, sweetheart.”And that did it. I groaned as I came, my body shivering.

The bliss didn’t last, though. Before I’d even finished washing out my hair, my dick was hardening again. It wanted the real Dylan and I had to agree with it. The real deal would’ve been much better.

As I got dry and dressed, now able to actuallythink, I thought about Dylan being my anchor. I had heard of anchors before, mainly because we’d had one in our family at one point. My great aunt had bonded with my great uncle when they’d started dating. But because I’d truly believed I would never get my abilities, I hadn’t been that interested in learning about what being an anchor meant, for the medium or for the anchor.

Dylan wasn’t mad we were bonded for life, no, he seemed to truly be pleased by the thought. I couldn’t help but wonder if Dylan might’ve liked me for longer than I knew, simply because I felt like I still needed to catch up to all of this. It could also be the fact that Dylan was the only man I’d ever found attractive. I’d found some to be nice looking, sure, but I’d never wanted to kiss or fuck another man, not until Dylan. He could’ve taken this easier and in stride—which was such a Dylan thing to do—simply because he knew he was into both men and women; their personality was what he said he was into. Or, perhaps he’d liked me for a while. I would need to talk this through with him when he returned.

Why Dylan had waited until I’d eaten to tell me we were basically more than married, I totally got. I also got why he’d been so possessiveover me when Vera showed up. It made sense with him being my anchor. Also, my need to stand close to him. Or just touch him. He’d made my pain disappear, had soothed the ache I’d felt just from touching him. I couldn’t deny we truly were bonded.

My chest felt light and fluttery just thinking about Dylan being mine.He was mine.Forever. And I couldn’t even pretend to be sad about it. Couldn’t even lie to myself and act like I needed more time, because I didn’t. I knew Dylan was my person and had slowly realized how perfect being with him would be. And now I was his.

I stepped out of the bathroom, feeling all agitated that Dylan wasn’t home yet. I needed him here. Needed his touch. His presence.

“Feeling better?” Erik smirked as I entered the living room once I’d gotten dressed.

I should’ve felt embarrassed by his knowing tone, but instead I took in the room and blurted,” Did you clean?”
