“I talked to Big A. You know about that?” He asked.

I swallowed hard. “Yeah, I know.”

He nodded like he was carefully choosing his next set of words. “Is that something that you want? I told him I’m with it. But I need to make sure I come to you first. Niggas be on some weird shit; I don’t want no parts of it. I don’t like a middleman either. I don’t need a spokesperson.”

This time, it was me who nodded and chose their words carefully. “I didn’t know how to ask you. I didn’t know if it would be smart to ask you. That’s all.”

He stood to his full height and then closed a little bit of the space between us.

“You got my number, if that’s what you want. You tell me where to be and when to be there. Aight?” He said as he waited for confirmation that I understood.

“Sure…” I said, giving him a tight-lipped smile.

In my head, I thought that this would be the most uncomfortable conversation I’d ever have. It was actually worse. I felt like I was going to sweat bullets.

When we opened the door to my office. I followed him back into the conference area. Big A looked at me with a raised eyebrow as he sipped from his cup and then turned his head and continued to talk to the guys that he was standing in a huddle with.

I shrugged and walked back over to find Tyra. She had been showing everyone within two feet of her, her drunken party trick. I don’t know what the hell it was supposed to be, but she was keeping my staff and our two other friends entertained.

When the party was over, I took my first sip of alcohol as Big A drove me home. He let me get into the back seat until we pulled around the building, and then when we were a safe enough distance from the office, he told me to get into the front.

After we got back on the road for the second time. The silence between us felt a little thicker than usual.

“How was the meeting?” He asked.

“What meeting?” I asked, confused. It was the weekend; meetings aren’t hosted on weekends.

“In your office.” He clarified. He took his eyes off the road for just a second.

I chuckled. “Oh. That? That wasn’t a meeting. All he did was ask me if I was okay with what you asked him. Which I really respect. But that was it.”

He nodded. There was a hint of jealousy there that I recognized immediately but didn’t want to call him out about. True enough, I liked A, but not to the point of wanting to be exclusive with him. I wasn’t in the business of playing with anyone’s emotions. So, to avoid that, I didn’t make any promises.

We didn’t speak for the rest of the drive, but when we made it to my house, he came inside and fucked me until I orgasmed so hard that I started falling asleep mid-stroke.

The next week, I reached out to Solo and asked him if he was okay with the following weekend. He agreed, and we got testing and everything done. Big A and I had already done this, but to make him comfortable, we did it again.

Once all results had been received and everything was clear, I had Tyra book me a hotel room on the far side of the city.

They were supposed to come to the hotel room separately. Eight for Big A and 8:30 for Solo. Big A came a little late. He was dressed down and smelled amazing. I wanted him to come first to make me feel comfortable, so I wouldn’t feel the weight of what was about to happen.

I had been drinking a glass of wine when he knocked on the door. I pulled it open and saw him standing there with his hands in his pockets.

“Hey…” I said as I stepped aside and let him into the room.

“What’s up? You look good.” He said, pulling me into his embrace, then kissed me quickly.

He stepped in and glanced around the room before I led him to the bedroom. He came over to me and then pulled me on top of him. He rubbed the spread of my hips, and I put my arms around his neck. He peppered kisses over my face and then cupped my chin and gave me the deepest kiss.

His hands moved to my ass as his eyes searched mine. “You sure about tonight? You uncomfortable?” He asked.

“Uncomfortable? No. Nervous? Hell yeah.” I laughed nervously before I continued, “But only because this is something I’ve never done.”

I looked at the clock. It was just a couple of minutes shy of 9 p.m. I don’t know if Solo had texted me or not, but my phone was the last thing on my mind. If he wanted to show up, he had the hotel name and room number.

“This is whatever you want it to be, baby. If you’re not comfortable at any time, let me know.” He urged me. I nodded and then met his lips once more. But our kissing session was interrupted by a knock on the door.

I froze in place, then I slowly got up from his lap with him on my heels. Likely it was just Solo, but he still wasn’t about to let me answer the door alone.
