I’d never had a thing about sleeping with someone after sex. More than once, I’d been the one to give a lover the boot. Always nicely, but still, sometimes a girl just needed her space. I didn’t want space right now. And when Eli slid an arm under my shoulders and pulled me on top of him, stroking a hand down my back, I settled.

“Not unless you want to,” he said. “I like you right here.”

“Me too.” I nuzzled my forehead against his neck, loving the way his hand stroked my hip, his cock still half hard against my thigh. I let out a long breath. “Feel free to wake me up in the middle of the night,” I murmured, “if you, you know, can’t sleep.”

Lips grazed my forehead. That was all I remembered until I woke hours later, sprawled half on my side, Eli wrapped around me. A clock on the bedside table told me it was eleven minutes after six—right around when my alarm would normally go off.

I didn’t want to get up. I wanted to stay exactly where I was for, oh, the rest of forever. Or as long as the box of condoms in the bedside drawer lasted. I wondered if Sinclair Security stocked the value size or the regular.

I’d find out later. For now, it was time to get out of bed and face real life.

Chapter Seventeen

SYLVIE

With more regret than I would have expected, I slid out from under Eli’s arm, leaving my pajamas somewhere in the room. I padded naked across the hall to my own shower. I brushed my snarled but dry hair and twisted it up in a knot at the top of my head. If I tried to wash it again, it would end up a dried-out mess, but the rest of me could definitely use a shower.

I’d barely gotten the temperature right when the door opened with a quick knock, and Eli was there—also naked, a red condom packet in his hand and his eyebrows raised in question.

I nudged open the door of the shower. “Morning,” I said with a grin. “Did I wake you up?”

“I was getting there. But then I thought about you and all this hot water, and how much more fun it would be to get you clean after I got you dirty again.”

“Tell me more,” I said, running my hands over his slick body as he stepped under the spray.

“I was thinking,” he said, stroking a hand down hiserection before tearing open the condom, “that I wanted to try something.”

“Yeah?” I shifted out of the water, letting Eli’s back take the brunt of it.

“Exactly where I was going to put you,” he said, and, done with the condom, reached for my hands, lifting them to twine around his neck. Before I could ask what he was up to, he bent, hooked his hands under my thighs, and lifted me until my back hit the tile. “I was wondering how easy it would be to do this.”

Braced there, I reached between us to guide his cock exactly where I wanted it. “I don’t know how easy it is,” I managed to breathe, “but I approve.”

I wasn’t a lightweight, but that didn’t seem to be a problem for Eli. He held me, seemingly effortlessly, pushing into me in deep, long strokes, pounding my clit, filling me completely until I came, gasping for breath, my fingernails gouging his shoulders.

When we were done, he held me there, the water beating down on us.

“That’s the fucking way to wake up,” he murmured in my ear. “I’d take you over coffee any day.”

I never thought I’d take anything over coffee, but Eli was just that good. He set me on my feet and dealt with the condom, then filled his hand with the shower gel I’d bought when I restocked. His strong hands sliding the soap over my skin was almost enough to have me darting out of the shower to grab another condom. Almost.

Instead, when he was done, I took my turn, stroking every inch of his body, taking my time.

“Am I clean enough?” he finally asked.

“I don’t know,” I said, working my way back up, nipping at his hip bone, sliding my breasts across hisslippery chest. “Just trying to decide which part I like the best.”

“I thought you’d made that pretty clear,” he said, smirking down at his cock.

“That’s probably number one, but there’s so much to choose from,” I said, my hands skimming along his shoulders.

The truth was that his face was probably my favorite. So expressive, so Eli—that full lower lip, those deep chocolate eyes. I had the sudden feeling I was getting in way over my head. I shook it off. This was just sex. I could keep it separate from Eli as a person, us being partners. I didn’t need to complicate this, not when it was so good in the midst of everything else.

We finished our shower, made coffee, had yogurt and granola in the kitchen before we went down to the Sinclair Security offices.

In the elevator, Eli turned to me. “This thing—” He gestured between us.

I raised an eyebrow, pretty sure of what he was going to say, considering we were going from shower sex to his workplace. “No one needs to know,” I said, my voice low.
