Three sets of eyes turn to me and I’m sure Wyatt is looking too, but I can’t see his face.
“Obviously we fucked a screw loose.”Finn laughs.“What makes you think we’d let you out of our sight, flower?”
My mouth opens and closes as he narrows his green eyes on me.There’s a possessiveness in his expression that burns me right to my core.Finn’s always been hot, but when he looks at me that way, my ovaries get ideas.Fuck, down, girl.Graduate, job, then possibly marriage, and then maybe little Finns, Drews, Dantes, and Wyatts.
“I’ve never lived on my own before.”I shrug.“I’ve always lived with my parents instead of having a place.Maybe I just want a space to call mine before moving in with my four… Do I call you boyfriends?”
Wyatt gently guides me to straddle him so we’re eye to eye.“Trouble.”
“Wyatt.”I mean, what else am I going to say? That wasn’t a question or an answer or anything more than his weird term of endearment for me.
He sighs and his eyes roll slightly in that way that says I’m being difficult. He nudges my chin up a little and searches my eyes.
“If we’re doing this, you’d be sleeping with us anyway. You want to keep your things at your mom’s for a while longer, that’s fine.”He trails his finger along my jaw.“But you will help us find a house that will work for all of us.Meaning you’ll have your space, but you’re going to be ours.”
“This is moving fast.”I almost saytoo fast, but stop myself.
Wyatt glances at the others, and when his gaze returns to mine, he laughs softly.“Sara, you’ve been ours forever.Yes, Drew is new, but fuck, we went through hell to get you back. You can’t think for one minute that we’d let you go now that we have you.”
The sincerity and love in his eyes is almost too much.I glance up at Dante who is rinsing his razor while waiting for my answer.Finn is brushing his teeth.Drew steps out of the shower. This could be my life from now on.
I could have these men every minute of every day.Something inside me bursts with my love for them, but there’s still this small, scared part that worries this will all fall apart.
I meet Wyatt’s eyes again.“I need some time.”
Drew touches the back of my head and I meet his warm brown eyes.“You’ll have all the time you need, princess.”
Chapter28
Reconciling Accounts
Sara
After breakfast, the others head upstairs to grab their laptops and make the dining room our work area.I wanted to finish icing the last couple of cupcakes. And maybe fix the few I really didn’t frost well last night.
My cheeks heat, remembering the threat of being discovered. The way they claimed me.A shiver races down my spine, even as the tenderness from yesterday lingers.
I don’t know why I’m hesitant to move in with the guys.Maybe it’s too new?Maybe because my family doesn’t know?Maybe because I’ve always felt safe staying at home and this is new and unexplored territory?
Laughter interrupts my thoughts before the door across from me bursts open.I straighten as Natasha and Tom come crashing in.Natasha notices me first and puts her hand on Tom’s chest. He freezes halfway to kissing her.He turns and sees me.
It’s almost comical. The shock and surprise on their faces at finding me here. But I’m still not in the mood to laugh at Tom.I don’t want to deal with him.So I pretend he isn’t there and just keep frosting the cupcake in my hand.
They straighten and Natasha presses up on her toes to murmur something in Tom’s ear.He nods and then looks at me with our father’s eyes.My eyes.
When I narrow mine on him, his head drops and he backs away, disappearing out the door.
Natasha turns to look at me with a hopeful smile, but her gaze falls to the cupcake I’m frosting.
“I could smell those baking last night.”She rubs her belly, and if I didn’t know she was pregnant, I wouldn’t be able to tell yet.She crosses the kitchen and stops on the other side of the island.
I’ve never seen anyone look at my baking the way she is right now.Like it’s the only thing she can think about.
“I didn’t want to just take one, but…”
I slide the one I just iced across the island to her before picking up another one.
“Oh my god, thank you.”She leans forward and takes it, peeling off the paper like it’s gold.“I didn’t think I had any cravings.Nausea, yes.Cravings, no.But all I’ve been able to think about all night and this morning was the smell of these cupcakes.”
