What do you need?

Me:

A way to get there without being caught

Drew:

I may have a person

I care about keeping Finn from getting entangled with his family, but more importantly, Drew has connections most of us don’t.Though one thing keeps nagging at me.He stopped Sara from telling us about Peter until Peter had a chance to leave.

What we know about Drew Young could fill a page, maybe a page and a half. But right now, he can help us get to Sara.Unless he’s working for Peter.

Fuck. When the car stops in front of the apartment, we head inside. We’ve been going since the middle of the night. When we walk in, I grab a couple of salads from the refrigerator and put them on the table.

This is a fucking train wreck and I can’t see how I could have stopped it without locking Sara up completely. She never would have stood for that.

Finn comes out of his bedroom with a bag.I can only begin to imagine what’s in the bag.

“Drew thinks he might have a way to help us.”I push a salad toward Finn.“Eat.”

Finn drops into the chair and eats mechanically. His thoughts clearly occupied.

A knock at the door startles me, but I rise and check to see who it is.Who could get by the doormen?

When I look out the peephole, Sebastian Cross stands out there with X and Mac.

I open the door and let them in.

“I heard you need someone to sneak you in somewhere.”Sebastian grabs a kitchen chair and turns it backward before straddling it.Mac and X lean against the wall with their arms crossed.

“And who did you hear that from?”I take my seat and casually eat my salad.

“Drew Young.Seems your bird has flown the coop.”

“She was kidnapped,” Finn bites out and pushes the last bit of his salad away.

Sebastian smirks.“Sure.Doesn’t matter how, all that matters is you want her back. We’ve got some experience getting in and out of places undetected.”

I meet Finn’s eyes. What choice do we have?We need help and these guys are a much lesser evil than Finn’s family.

Leaning my elbows on the table, I meet Sebastian’s dark green eyes.“What do you need from us?”

Chapter6

Time Value

Drew

It’s late by the time we leave Gideon’s house.Verity’s uncle was more than happy to share theSerendipity’s AIS number, which will allow us to track it.He then went into so much detail that I wanted to yell at him that we don’t need any of this. But apparently, he’s really proud of his ship. And that because it’s class B, it might show up on the satellite but definitely will show up when they go to port again.

We thanked him for his time and headed back to the apartment. The ship wasn’t on the satellite tracking at the time, but I bought a package on an app that will give me everything on the ship.Any notifications I can get.

The captain’s satellite phone was off, but Gideon tried to call it.There’s also a way to turn off the AIS, but the captain isn’t supposed to, and if Tom doesn’t know about it, then he won’t be able to turn it off.

The service is downloading all the previous reports of the ship’s GPS logs.

“Do we need to stop to get your passport?”Wyatt asks. His gaze is trained out into the dark street as the car heads toward his apartment.
