She’s fuckinglaughingat me!

Moving past her, I shove Ben out of the way and head for the bathroom as people start to crowd at the top of the stairs.

“Are you okay, man?” Sawyer calls between their heads.

I growl at him before dipping my chin and slamming into the bathroom.

“Okay, guys. Let’s give him some space.” Ben’s directing people downstairs while I gaze at my reflection in the mirror and swear up a storm.

I can’t believe she did this to me.

So maybe I acted like a complete idiot last night—I honestly can’t remember—but I didn’t deserve this.

Running a finger over my skin with a helpless frown, I want to punch the glass, crack my reflection so I don’t have to look at this ridiculousness.

She shaved off my fucking eyebrow!

I thought we had something going. A spark. A connection. I was so attracted to her I could hardly stand it.

But not anymore!

Fuck, it hurts.

No, itburns… like the worst kind of flame.

I don’t want to feel any kind of hurt. I want to be enraged, indignant.

She fucking went too far!

“What’s going on?” Charli’s voice reaches me behind the wood, and I yell at her before anyone else can explain.

“Charli! Get in here!”

CHARLI

Yikes.That’s ominous.

Nix snorts, shaking her head and turning away. She kind of skips down to our room, and I’m more confused than ever.

I look at Sawyer. “What happened?”

He shrugs, looking just as worried and clueless as I feel.

Ben lets out a soft sigh as he shuffles past us. “Nix shaved off his eyebrow,” he murmurs, and I gape at his back before turning to blink at Sawyer.

“Oh shit,” he whispers. “Our boy’s gonna feel that one. You know how much he cares about his looks.”

I close my eyes, my stomach sinking.

I thought we were going to plan out her revenge together.

“Charli!” my brother shouts again.

I flinch and suck in a breath, sharing one last look with Sawyer before creeping into the bathroom.

“Hey, bro. You okay?” I ask him gently, then have to fight the urge to crack up laughing when I spot his reflection in the mirror.
