“Dance with me.” I led her out on the floor, stopping to drop our drinks off at the table. I pulled her close and rested my hands on her ass. “I have something to tell you.”

Demi frowned. “Is it bad?”

“No.”

“What is it?”

“I love you.” Her eyes lit up for a second before she froze. “You have to keep dancing, baby,” I whispered against her ear.

She blinked. “Oh.”

We swayed to the music for a few seconds. I could see the wheels turning in her head, so I said, “Go ahead and ask me.”

Demi blew out a breath. “Like… you love me with the love of the Lord? Or you love me because we grew up like siblings? Or you—”

I kissed her nose, cutting her off. “I’m in love with you. I love you, Demi.”

“Already? It’s kind of soon-ish.”

“Not really. I told you… I know what I want. It’s not a stretch.”

“I guess not.” The song changed, another slow jam. She pulled back again. “Why?”

“Why do I love you?”

“This is going to sound weird considering I’m now very acquainted with your dick. But… I…” She grumbled a curse. “You’re the only man who’s ever told me that.”

Now it was my turn to be surprised. “What?”

“No one has ever said that to me. Not Dorian. Not anyone. Well, ourfamily. No one I was sleeping with. Or even my parents.”

I loved hearing her callmyfamilyherfamily. She’d once told me that she always felt like an outsider, even though we’d never done anything to make her feel that way. I pressed my mouth to hers. “I’ll tell you every day.” I kissed her again—once, twice, and a third time. A tear fell from her left eye, and I kissed her cheek there. “Every single day.”

Demi hugged me, burying her head in my neck. Beyonce’s “Dangerously in Love” played over the loudspeaker. As the song neared its conclusion, I heard Demi’s voice against my ear. “I love you,” she sang, repeating it over and over with Beyonce.

My heart pounded in my ears as she serenaded me. And when the song ended, I cupped her cheeks in my palms and kissed her. Hard. I didn’t care who was watching. I didn’t give a damn who had an opinion. And I knew the entire moment was corny as fuck. It didn’t matter, though. The only thing that mattered to me, the onlypersonthat mattered to me in that moment was her.

Finally, I broke the kiss and rested my forehead on hers. Vaguely, I could hear a whistle call and knew it was one of my siblings. Or my father.

“Damn,” she whispered.

“We should probably get out of here,” I suggested.

Demi looked at me then. Her eyes were glazed over, dark. “Good idea.”

“We’ll come back for the bouquet toss or whatever.”

“We don’t have to,” she said. “I’m not into that. We should probably tell Dex and Charlye bye.”

I scanned the room and found Dex and Charlye watching us. I threw up the deuces to my brother. He tipped his head to me. “He’s good,” I said. “Let’s go.”

Demi groaned. “Right there.”

I massaged the small of her back, rubbing oil over her skin, taking my time with it. We’d already christened the hotel shower, which resulted in a little accident. Demi’s legs had given out when I was eating her pussy, and she slid to the ground before I could catch her. She’d been walking gingerly ever since.

I trailed a line of kisses down her back, kneading her tender skin some more. “I’m sorry I didn’t catch you. I couldn’t concentrate on anything but how good you tasted on my tongue.”

Demi trembled with laughter, then winced. “You’re silly.”
