Dex brought my hand up to his mouth and kissed my pulse point. “But what’s the alternative?”

“Nothing I want to consider.”

He closed his eyes and circled my nose with his. “Good to know.” He buried his face in my neck.

For some reason, I babbled on, even as my body burned with need to be closer to him, to feel him inside me. “You’re so used to being in control.”

He rubbed his nose over my ear, placed a soft kiss there, before he whispered, “Not with you.”

Oh shit. Everything about this moment felt surreal. His lips were warm against my skin, but his whispered confession… “Dex,” I breathed, when he nipped my shoulder.

“Shhh…” He licked the same spot. “Enough talking.”

He gripped my chin and pulled me in for a kiss, devouring me with his mouth, his tongue, and his teeth. His dick stirred beneath me, and I rocked into it. It was embarrassing how much I wanted him. My feelings for him grew more intense by the hour, by the second. Nothing else mattered in the moment. Not my past, not my fears. Only us.

His hand slipped between my thighs and his thumb circled my clit. Once, twice, a few more times… And then I came. My orgasm buzzed through me, taking me by surprise with its intensity. I slumped forward, taking several deep breaths.

As satisfied as I felt, I wasn’t ready for the night to end. I slid my hand inside his trunks and wrapped my fist around his dick. Hard. Thick. Brushing my thumb over the tip, I bit down on his earlobe. “I want you now, Dex.”

His low groans made me ache for him even more. He pressed his dick against my core, and with one swift movement, he tugged my swimsuit aside and pushed inside me.

Shit.

Fuck.

I wasn’t sure who said what, but I didn’t care. I just wanted to give him as much pleasure as he’d given me. We made fast, frenzied love. And when we came, we fell over together, clinging to one another like our lives depended on it. In that moment, I realized that I wanted us to always be like this together. So maybeslowwasn’t what I really wanted after all.

WHAT’S IT GONNA BE!

“Idon’t know about this…” I grimaced. “Ooh, that hurts.”

Dex kissed the back of my neck while his strong hands massaged my lower back. “Do you trust me?”

I glanced at him over my shoulder. “Of course, I do.” I winced. “Dex, go slow.”

“Do you want me to stop?”

I buried my face into my hands and grumbled, “No. I need you to keep going.”

It could be argued that Justus’ wedding was the turning point in my relationship with Dex, but our weekend in Miami had been an awakening of sorts. A reset. We’d made promises to each other to try to work on us.

The last several weeks had been amazing. We’d spent most nights together, making love, talking about everything and nothing. Not that it was a stretch, but I fell harder for him every day, every time he looked at me, every second we were together.

“You ready?” he asked.

I giggled. “No. I’m scared.”

He chuckled. Dex had a beautiful, genuine laugh. It did something to me to hear it, to see it, to feel it. It made me want to climb on his lap and do him. But that would be kind of hard to do with these big-ass skates on. And… Most of his family was in close proximity.

Bliss and Blake turned thirty-something. The Youngs made a big deal about birthdays. There were so many of them, but Mama V had made an effort to celebrate each of their “personal holidays” as she called them.

As tempting as it was to stay in a bubble with each other, we knew we couldn’t hide forever. While everyone we loved was aware of our relationship change, this was our first outing asmore than friendswith Dex’s family.

Dex turned me to face him. “You got this.”
