I traced his jaw with my finger, kissed his full lips. Wrapping my legs around his waist, I said, “I’m perfect.”
His expression softened. “You are that.” He circled my nose with his before sealing his lips to mine again. I heard the rustle of a wrapper and realized he’d somehow managed to remember the condom. Good thing because I could barely remember my name. He ripped the wrapper with his teeth, sheathed himself and captured my bottom lip again as he pushed inside me.
Shit.
We both said it at the same time, which made me laugh. But when I looked at Maddox, there was no hint of a smile on his face. Only heat.
“Maddox.” I gasped as he thrust deeper.
My ability to think about anything other than his dick had evaporated under the power of his thrusts. The slow and easy pace coupled with the heat of his gaze was almost too much to bear. Tears sprang to my eyes, it felt so damn good.Too good.
Another orgasm crested within me, and I cursed it. Because I wanted to hold on to this feeling, to him. I wanted to bottle this feeling, to store it in a place that I could revisit often.
He ghosted his lips over my ear before he bit down on it lightly. “Let go,” he commanded softly. “We have all night.”
The fact that he’d known what I was thinking was a question for another day because my body demanded a release. I fell over, groaning his name over and over, pleading with him to never stop. A moment later, he followed me over, letting out a low, long growl.
We stayed like that for a while, bodies intertwined, foreheads pressed together. He kissed my brow, the tip of my nose, then my lips before rolling over onto his back. I snuggled into him, still needing the connection.
Wrapping my arms around his waist, I sighed. I wanted to say something, I wanted to confess. Over the years, I’d dreamed of him. I’d wished for him. It wasn’t every day, but he would sneak into my mind and my thoughts when I’d least expect it. During a movie or while I was brushing my teeth, or even in the shower. Sometimes I’d hear his voice when I was cooking or running or hanging a painting.Did he feel the same way?
I squeezed my eyes shut, willing myself to stop thinking about him as if we were a real thing. The facts were clear. While Maddox was here now, he wasn’t mine. And I would do well to remember that.
“Sloane?”
I lifted myself up on my elbow. “Huh?”
A lazy smile spread over his lips and my stomach tightened. “What do you think about dessert?”
I laughed, straddling him. “I think that’s the best idea you’ve had all night.”
