“Yes?”

Peering at me, she said, “I didn’t expect you. But I’m glad I broke into your house and stole your vase.”

I laughed. “It’s definitely a story to tell our kids.”

“Kids?”

“Be quiet.” I searched her eyes. “You’re definitely unexpected, Blake Young.”

“And you were definitely trouble—good and bad. I love you, Professor Cole.”

“Love you too.”

Two months later

“I’m still mad at you?”

Lennox brushed his lips over mine. “I love you,” he murmured against my mouth.

“Ugh…you get on my nerves.”

He peppered kisses over my jawline up to my ear, nipping my ear lobe. “I love your smile.”

Oh, God. My boyfriend was too damn sexy for his own good—ormyown good. “You’re so wrong for this.”

“I love your body.” His lips were everywhere—on my shoulders, above my breasts. “I love your mind.”

I sagged against the bed. “You’d better stop. We have so much to do.”

“I love that you’re so damn petty.”

I laughed. “You’re playing hard ball.”

“No, baby.”

Pulling back, I said, “No?”

He shook his head. “I don’t believe I stuttered.” He sucked my bottom lip into his mouth. One of us moaned. I couldn’t be sure if it was me or him. I didn’t care. “Tell me you love me,” he commanded softly.

“I love you.” I kissed him. “I’m still mad at you, though.”

“Why?”

“Because if it wasn’t for your happy ass, we wouldn’t be having this housewarming party tonight.”

Lennox laughed. “You’re going to blame this on me?”

“It’s your fault. Everyone knows I don’t like people all up in my space, especially nosy people. Your mother’s church friends ask me all the time when we’re getting married.”

He leaned his forehead against my shoulder. “You can’t blame them for being happy for us.”

I arched a brow. “Oh, yes I can. Last week at the pantry, Sister Brown cornered me near the potatoes and asked if we were planning on having a big family.”

“What did you tell her?”

Rolling my eyes, I said, “I told her to ask the Lord.”
