It Kills Me
Blake
Waking up with Lennox’s fingers in my pussy and his mouth on my clit wasthe.Best.Thing.Ever.Letting out a hoarse cry, I came for the second time that morning and collapsed against the mattress.
“So good,” he whispered, kissing his way up my body, paying special attention to my nipples before he sucked my bottom lip into his mouth.
Soon, he was inside me, simultaneously pulling me apart and putting me back together again. We made slow love this time, pushing and pulling, nipping and sucking. I reveled in the feel of his body against mine, the sound of his dirty words in my ear, the smell of his skin, and the way he filled me up like no other man had before—physically and emotionally. Climaxing together, we clung to each other as if we’d never have another moment like this again and knowing we definitely would.
Once I was able to catch my breath, I burrowed into his side, which was fast becoming one of my favorite places to be. I fit perfectly there, snug in his warmth. I didn’t want to move; I didn’t want to burst the bubble we’d created with each other. But I had so much to do today.
Pressing my lips against his chest, I murmured, “Is it too much to ask for another day like yesterday?”
After skipping out on the rest of the dinner with Emerie and Vaughn, we’d returned to his house and spent the rest of the evening and the next day wrapped around each other, making love leisurely between meals and snacks.
Lennox tipped my chin up and planted a tender kiss to my lips. “You could always stay?”
It was tempting, lounging around with him. But it was Sunday, and I had work to do. Groaning, I said, “I wish, but I can’t.” I kissed him again and sat up, picking up my phone. As expected, I had several missed calls and terse text messages from my family. I spent a few minutes sending “I’m fine, see you later” texts to everyone who’d contacted me, except for Paityn.
My big sister had sent a text telling me to expect a surprise package soon, to which I replied:I hope it’s not nipple clamps. That shit hurt.
Paityn had been steadily building her sex toy business and had always used us as her guinea pigs, sending us everything from whips to sex swings. And I was here for all the kink—except for the nipple clamps. Hard pass.
To my surprise, and in spite of the three-hour time zone difference, Paityn responded:No. You’ll love this one. Trust me. Call me when you get it. Love you.
Lennox’s hand smoothed up my back, sending chills up my spine and making me want to fall back into his arms. Closing my eyes, I set my phone down and sighed. I’d told myself many times that this wasn’t serious, that I was just having fun. Yet, the more time I spent with him, I found myself helpless to resist him and wanting to abandon my plans for another kiss, another touch. I glanced back at him, studied his profile. He didn’t look at me, didn’t speak. His gaze was on the ceiling, but I suspected his thoughts were somewhere else, definitely not in the room.
I placed my hand on his chest. “Are you okay?”
“One of my colleagues wants an investigation opened into this Dory allegation,” he said.
Turning around, I inched closer to him. “What?”
He told me about an altercation he’d had on Friday after one of his lectures. Apparently, Dory had managed to convince one faculty member to believe her, which had prompted an investigation from the Dean of the College of Literature, Science, & Arts. “I have a meeting with the Department Chair tomorrow to discuss a plan of action, and an administrative hearing with the Dean next month.” He met my gaze then. “This could take me out of the classroom, ruin my tenure track. All because this woman knows how to lie.”
I struggled to find the right words to say to him. If this had happened to me, I’d be devastated, angry, vindictive…all of the above. “I’m sorry,” I croaked.
“Why did you believe her?” I opened my mouth to say something, but he rushed on, “Because I heard what you said before about how she was referred to you, but I need more than that. Was what she’d saidreallythat believable?”
My cheeks burned and I averted my gaze. In hindsight, Dory had never beenthatbelievable. Her story had just triggered something from my past, brought to mind my own traumatic experience in college, and I’d run with it. I knew better.
“Blake? Look at me,” he commanded softly.
Hugging my knees to my chest, I hunched my shoulders. “When I was in college, my Abnormal Psych professor approached me after class and invited me to dinner. When I turned him down, he became belligerent, threatening…violent.”
“Did he…?”
Shaking my head, I said, “He didn’t sexually assault me. But he grabbed me and, of course, I defended myself with a knee to the groin and right upper cut. He retaliated in the classroom by flunking me, spreading lies about me to students and other faculty. He was well-respected, had been with the U since the Seventies. And he thought he could get away with it because my parents were out of the country. Fortunately, my father has a lot of pull with the university and made his own threats. Eventually, the man lost his job, but the damage was already done to my reputation.” And unfortunately for Lennox, Dory had said the magic words—he’s ruining my name.
“It was a trigger for you,” he said.
I nodded. “At that point, it ceased being about Dory. It wasn’t even about you.”
“I’m sorry that happened to you.”
My stomach fell. Even when he should’ve been worried about himself, he was concerned about me. It made me want him even more. “Nothing Dory said was believable. From the very beginning, her story didn’t make sense to me. I’m ashamed I reacted the way I did. And I intend to write a bomb letter to the Dean outlining my experience with Dory.”
“You’d do that for me?”
